Unfortunately, I found I had to do a lot of chasing up.Stompa0 -
my husband and I both had Icesave ISAs which we transferred to Halifax. we opened one year fixed rate accounts at 5.5% once the Icesave payout was announced in november, but we did not get the money till 29th november, and the certificates till 13th december. we had been told originally we had 60 days to fund the account, then they tried to alter that to 30 days. we were also promised the rate would be held at 5.5%.
we had a lot of trouble with the paperwork, but the accounts were eventually funded on december 15th. after that it took 3 phone calls and until after new year to get the correct rate applied, but we got there eventually.0 -
Basically opening a Halifax FRISA should be viewed as a source of entertainment. Otherwise you might find that you are losing the will to live.
Having started a FRISA with Icesave ISA cash over the phone, I took my cheque and certificate and roll number to my local branch. I was told there that the account had been stopped and that they would open up a new one to take my cheque.
New roll number and cashed cheque completed, I rang them up today to check on progress. The new account has been stopped. I had received a form to fill in from the first aborted account, and it seems I now have to fill that form in.
So what is the roll number I should put on the form? "I don't know, Sir, they are going to allocate you another one. Put the first one on the form, I'm sure they'll sort it all out"
Episode 2 of a 'Comedy of Errors' starts next week.
This is after I viewed a total debacle back in October when my wife attempted the same thing with NatWest. She gave up after a similar set of complete foulups occurred. Just who is getting a bonus in these banks and why?
Can anyone out there confirm that when my FRISA account is opened, I will be able to view it on-line? I was told today that I would have to add it myself. But I can't see any means on-line to add accounts.0 -

to add an account click on "my preferences" when viewing your accounts0 -

I had a very similar entertaining experience when opening a Halifax FRISA. It was ultimately resolved to my satisfaction but it was hard work!
I had to add the account manually to view on-line. Of course, determining how to do this is about as easy as choosing the winning lottery numbers! I could tell you but I think you will have much more fun trying to work it out yourself!
Seriously, when you have the new roll number, if you can't work out how to add the account, post back here and I will explain.

Yes you can view it online, and you have to add it yourself. Mind you, that assumes that you can get them to tell you the right Roll number!Stompa0 -

Yes, you should be able to view it online. The working day after it was opened, you should be prompted to add it when you log in to internet banking.0
