  • Have you had the call from Payplan yet? What did they advise?
    Barclays OD -£805.93/limit £800 A & L OD -£350.00/limit £250
    HFC (laptop) £549.00, Barclays Loan £3033.00, O2 £331 (227.70 left)(defaulted):eek::eek::eek:
  • Hiya, never posted on here before, but felt I had to when I read your post. You've been through so much.
One thing I don't understand is your work travel expenses, if you have to travel away from your normal base, your employer should pay your expenses. They should be able to claim all the costs against tax, might be worth checking it out and letting them know, could suit you both.

    good luck

  • Hey Maddiem, thought I would pop in before going off to bed to see how you are getting on. I know things must still be whirling around your head but try and take some deep breaths, think about things and then deal with whatever you feel able to deal with first. Dont give up, you will find a way through all of this.

Just a suggestion that popped into my head whilst reading through your thread - are you able to open a new bank account (even just a basic account where no credit checks are needed - just an identity check for your name & address) so that you can arrange to have your salary paid into a new account and then try and deal with the payday loans etc when you know your money is safe somewhere else? I'm not sure exactly how they work but I'm sure I read somewhere that they (payday loans or whoever) can just automatically take the amounts due from your bank  .

Anyway, my thoughts were that perhaps it would help you feel better if you could start with a nice clean slate in a new bank account. Who do you currently bank with? Having a look at your creditors I would think that Halifax Easycash account/Co-Op Cashminder accounts might be suitable for you as ultimately you want an account where your wages are safe without a creditor being able to deduct money.

In the meantime, please try the online debt remedy section on the CCCS website. You can put your income/expenditure on there and it will give you suggested options for your circumstances. You are not committed to anything at that point - you are just having a look and deciding on what options are best for you.

I know that payday loans etc give a lot of people such a hard time but if you can get your salary into a safe place it will give you some time and breathing space to work out how to deal with everything else. That way you can sort out your priority debts first (ie mortgage, council tax, utilities, food!).

When you start taking those first baby steps to regain control you will gradually find more strength to deal with the other problems.

As I say, it's just a thought I had and you may decide it's not what you want to do.

Please keep posting and let us know how you are feeling/getting along with things. Ask any questions that pop into your head ... "it will all come out in the wash" as they say. I know how it feels to be where you are (but for different initial reasons) and it is no surprise to hear how you are feeling at the moment. If you have to get through each day by just dealing with 10 minutes at a time - then that's exactly what you do. Gradually it will be an hour at a time, a day at a time and so on.

Feel free to send me a private message (PM) if there is anything you just want to say/get off your chest, without the posting being public for all to see. I will try to log on as much as I can to check (bit difficult when in work though) so if you do send a message and I dont reply asap, please dont worry, I will reply as soon as I possibly can.

Dont give up, please, there will be a way to turn all of this around.

Will be thinking of you sweetie.

  • My travel to work is £40 on the tube per month maxium from zone 6. I use my car twice a week to travel to another office which if I didn'ttravel to I would either have to move there full time for and get a huge reduction in salary. Plus, I know everyone thinks get rid of the car but I have to have some outlet, my partners grave is up North and I have to visit it at least twice a month, train is not an option. Please don't ask me why I have to visit it, that I don't have to.

As for Payplan, they didn't call. I've left message and also left message with CCCS. Guess they are inundated. It will have to wait to Thurs now as I am on 12 hour shift tomorrow.
  • Hey poppet, I havent made it off to bed yet! Ooops!

You dont have to explain why, not at all, it's all perfectly understandable.

The CCCS website is an option for you if you cant get through on the phone. I imagine they are both (Payplan and CCCS) very busy with things at the moment but just keep trying when you can. I do all of my communication with CCCS via their website/email - I find it hard to get on the phone during the day (too many ears around the office for a start and then too late by the time I get home).

Try and get some rest hun x

  • Hiya, I think I understand about the travel now, you get paid more for working in Central London I think? I live in the north, so don't fully understand the weighting stuff. I can't really comment on the car, used to have one, but hated driving, so bus metro suits me, my choice. My daughter is very different, she couldn't be without a car, and would donate bodily parts to keep it, so guess I understand the need.
as someone said earlier , you need to sort your payday loans. Once they are gone life will be so much easier for you. Mylastfivers advice is good, take it. Your partner would not want you to be in this situation, and I'm sure would rather see you smiling in a couple of months, then visiting every couple of weeks. Once your pay day loans are sorted, go and visit your partners grave and let them know you are ok, if it was me, I'd buy bacon egg and mushroom from the closest burger van and give him grief about us being relagated, cos I know it would make him laugh, but whatever suits you xx
    Make those paydays yours xx
  • Just visiting to see how you are doing.....For MY mobile...I recently got a sim card from ASDA....I changed from Virgin PAYG.
    ASDA text 4p
    ASDA calls 8p per min.

It does not cost to get your PUK and transfer your number.

    Just a suggestion.
Today, my BEST is good enough.

Hi..thanks all for you comments. Not ignoring it today, just very hard to get onto the internet at work without someone close by. Payplan called this morning but I could not talk to them. Will be doing all calls on Thurs when I am off. On a plus side I have put myself down for a few days overtime next month. On the negative side, it seems worse than ever and just writing it all down have meant it looks bleak! I know, stay positive and I am trying to. I've also made a list of stuff I can sell on eBay so a wee start. Just don't know what to do with Payday loans. If I pay off this month and don't take out again I won't have anything to pay mortgage etc but I am thinking!
  • You know what? Given your predicament, if it were me I might be prepared to miss the mortgage for 1 month if it meant getting the payday loans off my back. Could you take out a couple of hundred quid in cash for food etc for the month, then just let the Payday people have the rest?

    Oct 16 £17873

    Maddiem,
Just wanted to wish you well. You are such a strong person to be dealing with so much at this time. Once those Payday loans are out of the way, things will look up for you. I`m sending you wishes for improvements this year. Good advice on paying a token £1.00 to the non priority debts. This will let you get back on your feet and give you some breathing space.
    Good luck.;)
