I have spoken to Payplan and nothing is set up yet as they need to go through everything in detail, appointment to do all that is on Monday. I have taken the bull by the horns and have spoken to one of my family who wants to help me. I realize it is borrowing more but can get Paydays cleared and then start to work out where to go from there. Regarding my car my insurance is paid up to March, after that I 'may' sell it but the car is more than a car and yes you may all think to get rid of things but also was my partners and I need something to hold on to. Thank you all for the ideas, tips and suggestions, I really do appreciate it and hope when my head is clear I can be of use to others.0

Hi Maddie,
Have you tried using Debt Remedy to get som immediate advice? Debt Remedy would assist you in completing a financial statement and you would be provided with tailored advice on the best way to deal with your situation. Click here to go directly to Debt Remedy.
You could also book a telephone based appointment to speak to a counsellor to get another opinion on your situation. The number to call is 0800 138 1111. I would say Debt Remedy would be the first port of call as our helpline is recieving a record number of calls at the moment so you may struggle to get through straight away.
As for your immediate situation, certainly do not default on mortgage payments as your lender has the right to repossess straight away you fall behind with a Suspended Possession Order. Is the mortgage on interest only? If not, you could see whether your lender would allow you to go onto interest only for a short term to bring down your payments.
Regards,

Hi Maddie
Not really related to your debts but I just wondered whether you'd found www.merrywidow.me.uk/ yet? A friend of mine lost her husband just before her 30th birthday, and I know she uses it a lot when she's feeling those late night blues and only someone who REALLY knows what you're going through is enough.
I do hope that's helpful honey. Everyone here is here for you too.

I have filled in online on CCCS and answered some extra questions for them. I will look at the other one you suggest. My Mortgage is on fixed repayment and going to speak to mortgage provider to see if there is anything we can come to. I won't default on mortgage payment at all as I know what is at risk. My only problem is, and I realise it, is that I am not very good at the moment speaking to people, I get all emotional and end up making things worse.0 -

I haven't heard of them but thank you I will have a look at it. Many thanks. xx0 -
Have you checked out the benefits you may be entitled to....I think I recall something about money towards funeral expenses etc. Don't know whether you can claim it retrospectively though.0

I hope it's helpful. Perhaps join the forum there and discuss your debt with them - I'm sure a lot of people on there have been left with money issues and may know of things we have not heard of xxMy debt free diary | Post Office loan: £2131 1429.38 | Barclaycard: £4429 1988.12 | Paypal Credit £322.71 574.91 | Monzo Flex £169.03 |

Hey Maddiem
I see there are some more good ideas for support/help on here.
Can I just quickly say THANK YOU TO CCCS MATTHEW for posting here for Maddiem. I hope you dont mind Maddiem but I put a post on the CCCS thread asking if anyone could help you and Matthew had kindly posted on your thread and offered some more advice for you.
About your mortgage, would you be able to put something in writing to them and then follow it up with a call about a week afterwards? If you have a copy of your letter, that will help you stay focussed on what you want to achieve during any telephone conversation. They may have already received your letter and will already be in the process of a response, in which case you can just perhaps finalise arrangements over the phone. If they havent, then you have what you want to say in front of you.
Of course, you could always write it all down and ring them to say what's on there in the first place. When I'm feeling emotional, I prefer to do things in writing/by post (because its so embarrassing breaking down in tears on the phone, especially if you end up with someone who doesnt have a lot of sympathy/empathy with you). Just a thought anyway.
Keep taking those little steps forward, you can do this
