regarding porting your number i suggest you check the t and c's

"The mobile phone number on your airtime bill
submitted must correspond with the mobile phone number on the claim form. All
applications must be received within 30 days of the date on the latest bill you submit"

would seem to me that if you port your number over you might not get your cashback
Ive spoken to the link regarding this specific term, i rang five times (just to be sure) and they all said as long its a port its fine, i also have this in writing and phone recording, i really don’t think there’s a problem here, just send in your bills at the correct time.

Also the link are happy with copies only, so if your good with photocopying and a bit if cutting and pasting and again photocopying they’ll be non the wiser if you want to be 100% spot on.

I've just ordered one now and yes, there was a section to put your existing mobile number and network provider for porting your number.

I didn't port mine though, I wanted a brand new number.

was there a field to enter your PAC code too?

Has anyone experience of buying refurbs from The Link before? As they are advertising it on their homepage and have gone to the trouble of producing an image, it clearly isn't just one or two phones that have been returned ..!

The information under More Details states:
    What does refurbished mean?

Refurbished mobile phones are handsets that have been returned from our stores to our central refurbishment centre. Here we fully test and inspect the handsets to ensure that they are suitable for sale. We replace any parts that are faulty and where possible replace casings. They are then re-boxed in plain packaging with a mains charger. Instructions are included if available.Although the phone may have originally come with selected accessories(i.e. data cable or memory card), we cannot guarantee that they will be supplied with the refurbished handset. If you recieve any additional items with your handset then its a bonus.

The handset should look virtually as good as new and comes complete with a standard 12-month warranty.

Note that refurbs may not have all the items that would normally be in the box and will be sent out in brown boxes rather than original - is this the case or is this to cover themselve and you will actually get it "as new" in the original box?

Just checking as we don't really need the phone (have a Nokia 7600 from a CPW deal last year) and could then sell on either phone if it comes with all its bits intact (ooer!).

I didn't see a field for this. I did also wonder why they only asked for a phone number and the network, but not the PAC code! Maybe it's just for their records, so the original phone number and your ported phone number match up when you claim your cashback.

I also have the Nokia 7600, which I bought as a refurb from CPW. It didn't come with the original box or any accessories, just came with the phone, charger and manual in a standard brown box. It was as new, had absolutely no marks on it, in fact, there's no way (from looking at it) that you could tell that it was a refurb.

Don't forget that you can't make video calls on the Nokia 7600!!! This is why I'm going to have to sell it and keep the 6680, to take advantage of the free 25 minutes of video calls each month!
  • Have ordered one of these too... many thanks OP.

I too got a refurb from CPW (the 6630) and I got all the usual bits in a plain box. My guess is these will be the same, but the deal is the most important thing for me, so I'm not too fussed about missing headsets etc....

    Cheers :D
