Glasto sold out!! Free tickets for working

If you are gutted the Glastonbury tickets have unexpectedly sold out very early this year then you can still go if you are willing to do some work to earn your ticket.
Please follow the link for full details but the basics are;
The work is fenceline and gate security, working for a well established security firm who have been handling Glastonbury for 10 years;
3 shifts of 8 hours are required, you will be paid for these at around minimum wage;
you get use of improved camping and catering facilities with showers;
a cash deposit is required to ensure no legging it once there, this is fully refundable;
and most importantly when you arent working you can be a festival goers just like everyone else.
http://www.stuartsecurity.co.uk/jobs.html
Please see below for the same scheme last year which around 400 MS'ers took part in.
http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=640823
Again just to be fully open I must disclose an interest as the company is a client of mine.
I would again advise if you are interested to move quickly, places are limited and people who used scheme last year have already been contacted and are starting to fill the available spots.

More tickets will be released in a few weeks0

I've done this before, although it was with a company sub-contracted by Stuart. It was great fun and I think I ended up earning £500 for 5 days work0
-
I am interested in doing this.
However before I send off a cheque worth 10 weeks food budget I would like to hear from others who have done this previously.
At the moment all I can find is this one post here from last year:

Surely there must be others
Many Thanks to the OP

As I said in my above post I worked for a company subcontracted by Stuart at Glasto 07. Basically my job consisted of manning the fences from 10pm to 10am (which is why I earned more than average) ensuring that no one tried to jump the fences to get in for nowt.
Essentially, the actual Stuart staff will be on the gates, checking tickets and the like to ensure only legitimate people are getting in. You wont have to search or manhandle people, that will be taken care of by SIA badged staff. You get any time off to spend in the festival and will generally get to see a couple of headline bands (I didnt as I had a night shift, although i did get to see The Who)
You camp away from the rest of the festival (a blessing in disguise if it !!!!es it down as we were on a hill). You get fed by buying subsidised meal tickets, which are then exchanged for a meal at specified times. The food is adequate, and cheap (compared to the crap you would get inside the actual festival). The showers were frankly horrendous, but better than nothing. When I went, they were basically portaloos with a shower instead of a toilet, although due to the mudbath that Glasto had been that year, they were all blocked by the weekend and you ended up standing in a puddle of mud to shower.
However, it was a fantastic experience, and I thoroughly recommend it0 -
tickets are they available?No Unapproved or Personal links in signatures please - FT30

Just bumping this up.
I received an email at the start of the week to let me know that my application had been received. :j
They are currently running a CRB check which will come back clean.
I am still waiting to hear that I have definitely got it before I jump the gun but its a positive start.
Has anyone else applied yet?
I applied on my own and don't have anyone else to go with.
Do you think that this will be a problem?

Just to add to this- you can also be a steward for oxfam, follow link http://www.oxfam.org.uk/get_involved/stewarding/index.html , you work 3 8hr shifts and get free food and a secure campsite with showers!!. You can also litter pick(contact Fiona, info is on the main Glastonbury website), this involves doing 4 6hr shifts and you get the same sort of beneifts as working for oxfam. I have volunteered for both but I personally prefer the litter picking as the shifts are in the morning so you don't miss any music. If you're not up for so much hard work then stewarding would be best for you, the only problem with Oxfam is that you will probably have to do an overnight shift (Midnight til 8am) and it is a killer!!0

I just wanted to add- the food inside the festival is amazing, very good quality and reasonably priced!0 -

I believe the point being made was that subsidised food is supplied, 3 square a day for about £4, compared to the vast majority of food in the festival itself which is of the burger van style, with most stuff costing at least a fiver. Of course, nicer food is available if you find it.0 -

Have you been to Glastonbury, I don't even think there are any burger vans!! Most of the food is prepared on site and you can get fantastic curries, falafals, nachos, salads, pies, the list is endless, I have never had a burger at Glastonbury!0
