I sent off my application form for working at Glastonbury last week.
The cheque has been cashed but I haven't heard from them yet. At all. Is this usual? This definately isn't a scam?
I've sent them an email... hopefully get a reply soon.
Can anyone who's worked before please reassure me?!
Thanks!

Received a conformation email today so thankfully my money hasn't been cashed in by scammers. Excited now!0 -
Just bumping this up as the festival is now less than a month away :j
Has anyone else from MSE applied?
According to the confirmation email that I received we should be getting some more instructions on the 12th of June.
I am hoping for some more car parking details as the train tickets are gradually starting to creep up in price as the date gets closer0 -
Final bump from me before the festival starts next week :j
I packed all of my things today and am now ready to just jump on the train and go.
I look forward to meeting some other MSE'ers soon.

So I am back from the Glastonbury festival and I thought that it would be good to provide some feedback for any future applicants who are considering working for SLS/Stuart Security.
As stated in my earlier posts I took the train down which was expensive but convenient. I went down on the Tuesday before the festival started and there were lots of other stewards who were travelling down on the same day. It was really easy (and free) to get from Castle Cary station to the festival site as there were lots of buses provided.
The induction process was a bit of a ball ache and took an incredibly long time to take 2 photographs and sign a few sheets of paper. However this wasn’t a major hassle as it was a good opportunity to meet people whilst standing in the line. Throughout my time working at the festival I met some really interesting people from all walks of life. It was mostly other students but there were also some really random people. I loved it!
The work itself wasn’t too bad. Most of the work involved some sort of standing around. This was either on the perimeter fence watching for fence jumpers or on the gates. I never got to see anyone trying to jump the fence so the majority of the shifts were spent chatting to the other people who were on the shift with me.
The meals were also really good for £2 a time – so much cheaper and better portions than eating inside the festival!
The only negative comment that I would say is that some of the supervisors and the SIA badged staff did seem to talk at you instead of to you. The most laughable time was when the IT guy came out of the office and started ordering people about. I think that this must be a personality trait that develops within people who work in the security industry as it was common amongst men and women of all shapes and sizes. I was there for a good time so it wasn’t worth causing a fuss. Instead I just smiled and obeyed.
I asked a few people that I met if they had come via MSE but no one had even heard of it. Where were you all?
I haven’t received my wages or my deposit back yet but others have reported that it can take a couple of months from their previous experience. I hope that I receive all of my deposit back as the signing in and out of the equipment did seem a little sporadic. One time I asked the lady in the equipment trailer 3 times that it was ok to return my jacket without signing it back in again but I never did get an answer that I was satisfied with.
So would I go again? Short answer = No. This was not through any fault of SLS, rather the festival experience as a whole. It was my first time at a festival and I felt that it really wasn’t for me. However I am incredibly glad that I went and experienced it. It was a very memorable experience and more importantly, it didn’t cost me anything to experience it :money:
Good work MSE.0
