If you got declined for natwest I wouldn't bother with RBS, they run on exactly the same systems and have the same staff, even.
You should feel lucky you have an easycash account.Kavanne

I don't know, I think he wants the £5? But mil has said theirself they don't care about moneysaving so I am not sure why.
Nah it's more a case of wanting an account, i'd probably never use it but hey! You must know what I mean, when you want something you keep going til you get it then when you do have it, you actually find you no longer want it!
I hate HBOS with a vengeance but want to get an account with them, even to turn round and say pishorf after they open it....
maybe you think it's weird but I know what I mean... I've more than proved myself to that bank and gave them 2yrs using easycash with over £4k per month going through it - they never once offered me an upgrade. I never once got a charge posted on my account nor have I ever gone overdrawnSome say he is a racist, others say he is a liar but the truth will always prevail...

Agreed ... the whole bank is a nightmare to deal with. They don't even have decent internet banking. Definitely one to steer clear of, imo.0 -

I know, like with me they accepted me online and I went in branch to finalise opening account they couldn't do it, they then sent me chq book, letters, paying in book etc and when card was due I got statement saying account was closed! !!!!!! - waste of public money big time! They used the excuse we do another check before issuing the card - I told them they were !!!!!! and left it at that! Some say he is a racist, others say he is a liar but the truth will always prevail...

Because it will just get declined
Because you found their service appalling before
Because it's a waste of time
You could still try lloyds, abbey, coop, yorkshire bs, any other bs... the list goes on.
EDIT: It is true that RBS/Natwest carry out a second stage credit search when they receive your docs. I saw it for myself when I opened my account with them.Kavanne

All I was asked for was a signature.

Because you will get another credit search mark on your file
Because it will just get declined - Ive got 60 searches in a month and a cifas marker - you think this bothers me? lol
Because you found their service appalling before - Yup, its shoddy to say the least and if I find out they done a second search at the time they got my docs i'd sue em for breach of DPA as I never authorised 2 searches nor do they advertise it. So I think, to be honest they don't do a search but more a fraud (hunters) or something search.
Because it's a waste of time - why? Its funny. One time they will screw up and accept it. If not i'll waste their time by printing same old proof off and appealing everytime lol. I do nights and am bored so doesn't bother me in the slightest - I have loads of time on my hands hahaha

No thanks - I want a bit of your bank that you love so much! Accept it, they aren't that good - cmmon?

Hmm, can you vouch for this with official paperwork or link to website terms otherwise they are in direct breach of the DPA - not the FSA or anything like that but the Data Protection Act as this governs CRA's and searches along with the ICO.

I am in the process of opening an account with Natwest and yes they do seem weird!
But since HSBC have welcomed you with open arms I am surprised that HBOS and Natwest could not at least give you a bog standard current account.
I have an easycash with hbos - had it 2yrs!
Wouldn't need a natwest step cos I got a Plus account already.... its a step (gettit lol?) backwards with a worse bank as well, according to other posts shown on here (10 worst banks)Some say he is a racist, others say he is a liar but the truth will always prevail...
