I wish you put as much effort into opening accounts as getting your camera sorted. :rotfl: :rotfl: :D

To be honest, from what other people have been saying, if the account was open then there would be the drop down box to the right so my understanding is that the 1st account I applied for (Halifax Reward Current Account / the one with no link on it) has been refused whilst the other two 'awaiting decision' will probably get declined as well.

BUMMER!!! This screen definitely looks different to what others have described theirs as looking like so I guess i'll just keep applying LOL
regarding the 2nd one down, that is what my bf's student account looked like when it was declined 6 months ago (but I just reapplied and it was accepted with £1000 interest free OD, woohoo!)

EDIT: He got a letter in the post saying it had been declined, that's how we know :)

The bank doesn't care about customer loyalty. Doesn't matter if you've been with them 20 years or 2 minutes unless perhaps you know the bank manager personally. But even these days that won't get you much.

Thanks - that exactly what I thought because there are no links etc so its as though it's dead! Thanks for clearing that up for me.

Its annoying though cos that was the link that added with a pop-up when I logged in telling me i'd a new account and asking if I wanted to add it so thought i'd got it! Its rather misleading....

I guess the other two will also get a decline then, oh well. Not to worry.

Yea I see what you mean, the 'old days' have well and truly gone and credit scoring seems to be the norm, regardless of history! Although HSBC seem to be ok at the moment.... I just want to, out of principle, get a full account with HBOS - maybe that day will just never come...

In modern-day banks, the branch manager has absolutely no say-so over who gets an account and who doesn't. They have targets to meet, so they'd obviously like everyone to be accepted.

1st will say deffo no! Thanks for that, trying to get me embarrassed? haha

Regards Natwest, i posted a full thread about their accounts setting up process cos its a nightmare..... I got accepted they sent everything except the card and then got a letter saying they'd closed it again! Apparently they do additional checks before issuing the card and for some reason closed my account.

I appealed they told me to !!!! orf! LOL

Just applied to RBS (keyline thingy) and got told they'd write to me in 14 days so I guess thats a no as well.
