    This is mine:

Thursday – salmon en croute, salad

It’s half term, so the children will have cooked brunch with fruit smoothies, and mid afternoon “high tea” of sandwiches, crumpets, muffins, fruit, Welsh cakes, drop scones, thought not all on the same day! I have a fruit cake, some butterfly buns and a sponge cake in the tin, and there’s a full fruit bowl for anyone who wants to snack.

PP - I really should follow your example and plan more for half term snacking. If I can just get off the laptop and go and do something useful I'll do just that!

Does anyone have a recipe for salmon en croute? I've been trying to make my own pastry recently (it falls apart but tastes fine!) do I just wrap the salmon in pastry and bake?

DH went to the butchers last week and came home with huge bag of meat - great of course but I'm craving a break from meat this week!

OK I am new to this board but I already meal plan (that's what 6 years as a student does to you!) I am a junior doctor so don't have much time so what I make has to be easy to cook.

Monday - Pasta with homemade roasted tomato and red pepper sauce (just eaten it - yum! It was made out of left over homemade tomato and pepper soup that I thickened up)
Tuesday - Naan pizza with cheese, tomatoes, mushrooms and peppers with salad
Wednesday - Turkey chili with kidney beans and rice
Thursday - Slow cooker vegetable stew with pearl barley
Friday - Home made turkey burger with left over turkey mince from the chili, Sweet potato chips (made on george forman), and salad.
Saturday - treat night - either eat out or get a takeaway.
Sunday - Roast chicken (then use left overs for next week), veges, roast potatoes, stuffing, homemade gravy.
  • Here's mine:

Sunday - Salmon En Croute, potatoes & sweetcorn
Monday - SC Braised Beef & Onions with Mash, Yorkies, Broccoli & Carrots
Tuesday - Spaghetti Bolognaise, Garlic Bread
Wednesday - Mince & Potatoes, Peas & Carrots

Thursday - HM Sausage & Bacon Quiche (in freezer), HM wedges, salad

Friday - HM Chunky Veg & Barley Soup, bread, with HM Chocolate Sponge & Custard for afters

Saturday - Chilli With tortillas, salad, Coleslaw

Sunday - HM Steak Pie, Roast Potatoes, Roast Veg

Hi - did you know there's a thread on here with Asda free delivery codes or offers. Search for 'Asda online shopping codes' on the Forums. Every little helps!

Welcome to newbies and to lurkers, get lots of ideas on this thread, it's fab!

    Cool! Thanks! :A

  • Long time lurker - first post on meal planning. We are 4 adults and a 7 year old.

Sun: Roast pork, roast pots, carrot & swede mash, cauli, peas, yorkshire puds & gravy
bread & butter pud made with hot X buns - custard

Mon: Fish and home made overn chips, peas -after reading this thread I decided to make "feed your family for fiver" chicken and lentil casserole - it was very good with a bit left over to freeze

Tues: Chicken pasta bake / fresh bread

Wed: Roast chicken, mashed pots, broccoli, carrots & peas
roasted apples / pears / plums + natural yoghurt

Thurs: bolognese and pasta / fresh bread

Fri: Chicken curry / rice / nan bread

Sat: Lamb stew - has potatoes/carrots/onions/swede in it so just served with a bit of bread for dunking.

Breakfasts are usually toast and / or porridge with a few bits of dried fruit on top / at the weekends maybe but not always eggs or beans with hash browns and sausages or bacon - if we have that on a Saturday there is no lunch.

Lunches are usually ham / cheese / tuna sandwiches for 7 year old + fruit & yoghurt and a biscuit if at school. If he's at home, soup or beans on toast, fish fingers home made oven chips with peas or beans. He normally chooses - as it's only him. For the ones at work, it's normally soup or sandwiches, fruit and yoghurt.

There will be nothing left over from the Pork today - the joint is enough for the dinner - if there is a lot veg left we will be having bubble & squeak on Monday - not fish and chips

Same with the roast chicken planned for Wednesday- there will probably be nothing left after the dinner or maybe enough for a sandwich for work for someone.

Had a change of plan with the plan!! See above

Also made some scones and chocolate cake - I'm a useless cake maker normally but this one is generally foolproof - you just chuck everything in the bowl and mix it up - you use oil and not fat.

The kitchen looks like a bomb has hit it - I guess I'd better go onto the fly lady thread.
