I have a fruit cake, some butterfly buns and a sponge cake in the tin, and there’s a full fruit bowl for anyone who wants to snack.:rudolf: Sheep, pigs, hens and bees on our Teesdale smallholding :rudolf:0 -

Hey peoples
We are making this week's shop stretch to next Tuesday. The plan is to start making use of adsa's cheap delivery day as we always seem to spend more in store, even with a list, than the online total (even taking into account things we had forgotten, etc)
Anyway, here goes!
Breakfasts will be banana smoothies and toast, porridge or cornflakes. Lunches mid-week will be Green Pea, Veg and Ham soup then Mrs M's delish bagels or sarnies with HM Rhubarb and apple jam and hm peanut butter or cheese, things on toast or cheese scones. DD and I will follow with a piece of fruit, DH also takes to work an apple, banana, flapjack and yoghurt. Drinks are water, tea/coffee, orange juice or milk. Snacks can be flapjack, cake, apples, satsumas, bananas, dried fruit, breadsticks, celery or carrot sticks. Puds can be any of the above, vanilla/choc pud, or semolina.
FRIDAY Lentil dhal, rice, naans, lime pickle and mango chutney - was yum! had a sneaky celery stick and pecans to follow.
SATURDAY (L) At parents' (D) For dd will serve up some of the "venison" stew and keep it warm for us later. We are having: Apple and Pecan Salad, "Venison" stew with mash and peas, Burnt Honey and Thyme Ice Cream with Tuiles, then Cheddar with oatcakes and celery.
SUNDAY (D) Turkey, yorkies, veg and roasties followed by any remaining ice cream(T) Tomato soup and toast, followed by cake - very likely Shaz's Lemon Cake (can you tell I have been reading Weezl's OSvUSDA challenge?
)
MONDAY [strike]Fish Pie (frozen last week) with broccoli and carrots[/strike] Made a delish potato gnocchi with tomato sauce and salad instead
TUESDAY [strike]Cheddar and Kidney Bean Pasties with chips, sweetcorn and spinach[/strike] Kidney bean, sweetcorn and raisin couscous with salad instead.
WEDNESDAY Tuna and Sweetcorn Spaghetti with salad
THURSDAY Pizza, salad and boiled pots
FRIDAY Lentil Lasagne (from freezer) with broccoli or spinach
SATURDAY (L) At parents' (D) Freezer raid! i.e. onion rings, sausages and wedges with breadsticks, celery, carrot sticks and a dip.
SUNDAY: Mince (from freezer) yorkies, veg and mash (T) Pancakes with grated cheese, followed by cake of some sort.
MONDAY: Cheesy hot pot with baked beans
TUESDAY: Poss a takeaway as my birthday!Love and compassion to all x0 -

Well I haven't made this concoction before
but I just plan on filling them with grated cheese, drained tinned kidney beans and probably a pinch of dried oregano too. I just make ordinary shortcrust, roll into rough circles, fill, pinch the edges together, brush with milk, and bake for about 30 minutes on 200c until browned. I used to make pasties way more often than i have lately but may well go back to making them frequently - they are great cos you can chuck just about anything in there!

Hi i think it would be great if everyone adds meals to this thread that they have tried and tested and new ideas they come up with as i can never think what to make for dinner and we end up eatin the same all the time! this way people can look on here for ideas and inspiration and it might give people more variety to make at home!
