Can't get Halifax Reward Current Account :(

I've got a student account and two reward accounts!

You can only have a maximum of three current accounts as I tried to apply for a third reward account, maybe that's why you haven't been accepted?

Hmm, the letter halifax sent me said that the reason I was declined was because you can only have max 3 current accounts!

That was me.
The last account I opened was in June.
Maybe they have introduced the maximum of 3 ruling recently?

I have 3 x Halifax reward accts and 1 BoS Reward Acct , however i know they only allow 3 in total , guess it slipped through:rolleyes:

Yes you were lucky. My 3 BoS applications were denied (2 immediately, and 1 after a short delay). Others who were successful in getting 6 accounts have had their 3 BoS accounts subsequently closed (with notice).

I managed to get a reward account a few weeks ago, but when I applied for my 2nd I was instantly declined. I got a letter a week or so later saying that I was not accepted based on my credit score.

I have been declined for an Amex Nectar card, and an Egg card in the past few months, but have had no trouble setting up 3 Lloyds Vantage accounts and a few savings accounts (i have been sorting out my savings lately).

Could it just be the number of credit searches on my file that are causing them to decline me?

Has anyone had any experience in appealing a decision for a reward account? I am not really sure what my justification would be for asking for 2 more current accounts, other than to take advantage of the £5 on each account, but I don't think they would like that.

I suppose the alternative is to try applying through BoS to get the other 2 accounts, but i dont know if that would make any difference really.
