Why not vote conservative if they have a pledge in their manifesto to halt the 3rd runway?

You have one chance to make a difference, putting your mark for labour will make the quality of life for those under the expanded flightpaths much worse and the terrible extra pollution isn't gonna help any polar bears

Because it's a balance in the end, isn't it? Anyway, I live in a safe Labour seat.

I'm sure many people in West London will vote Tory for the reason you state. Foolish Labour:rolleyes:.

You're talking as if life was perfect before TB worn the election in 1997. Are you in your 20's?

I don't think anyone here thinks the Tories are perfect. Far from it. They have yet to come up with any good ideas to ease the suffering of this mess. They will however probably do nothing and that is better than doing the wrong thing which is exactly what Crash is doing.

ES - I'm sure voters will get the Government they want. I didn't say that Labour will win the next election.

Just out of interest - what do you think the Tories will do that is going to make your life better?

Well I don't see how at the moment they can make it any worse !! Even that Raving Loony Party would be better than this lot! (are they still about ? oh sorry they're in power- aren't they?)

I don't think you read my post ...I said that we HAVE IN THE PAST always personally been better off under a Tory Government ..and BTW the Government is doing NOTHING for my husband ..as usual all talk no action.
The NHS when I have used it is worse than it used to be ...my doc used to make home visits 10 years ago ...not any more ...you have to know about a week in advance that you are going to be sick to get an appointment ...where has all the money gone ...oh yes..on managers and statistic gatherers ..whilst people die of hospital infections ....you call this an improvement? ....open your eyes and don't fall for the spin!
And there will be MANY unemployed under Labour ..and I don't feel safe with them in power

I did read your post. I'm sorry you feel so angry. I hope you get the Tory government you want.:D

I'm sorry to hear about your husband and I hope he gets another job soon. The Labour party are doing everything they can to save jobs. The Tories will not do this.

I think you are mistaken that you will be better off under a Tory government. If the NHS is underfunded, how will that effect you? Will you be able to afford BUPA? If there are many unemployed will you feel safe in your home or on the streets?

If Labour always break the economy everytime - how do you explain the performance of Margaret Thatcher & John Major?

"The Labour party are doing everything they can to save jobs"

    yeah right...

You should watch the documentary "Taking Liberties". They're not just incompetent, they're also sinister.

Yeah Laura ...a lot of people out of work feel very angry about your Labour Government ...I think you are maybe quite young ...I'm not ...and this is the worst that we have lived through ...or maybe it was the 70's ...em ..the last time Labour were in power for a long spell I think

Sadly, they won't do nothing. They will slash public services. They don't believe the state should provide health services, education, support to the poor and elderly.

Laura, what amazes me is the things Labour have done and no one has marched - I mean, casinos being made legal all over the country for a start - what the hell is that idea???? Allowing millions of people in to a country already on the brink? Could they not see what trouble that would cause. Ending student grants.

There are many things which had the Tories brought them in, the streets of London would have been full of students marching, yet when labour do the same/worse, people just shrug. Cant make it out at all.

My father was a life long socialist - he died aged 91 3 years ago and the last election he refused to vote for a labour party he no longer recognised or supported.

Oh and I am a beneficial owner of about an inch of the land required for the 3rd runway :)

Most of us are labour supporters in our youth, til we earn a decent wage and have a family.:)

Yes. They will cut budgets - I'd like to say they will reform services and work smarter but they won't., they'll just cut budgets. But, we have been living way beyond our means. Crash has just been throwing money at things wantonly - that must stop. The money supply is not infinite.
