    Hello matey!

I've got a Tesco loan but it isn't flexible. I also phoned them about the promo 5.9% to see if they would reduce my rate but apparently you have to be a homeowner for it!

I'm sceptical about 0% cards now for 2 reasons. The first being the fee they charge. If you have to do 2 transfers to new cards a year you can pay upto 5% in fees. American Express do a card that has an APR of 4.9%!

Also the risk of not being accepted for a new 0% card and then being charged 12.9% or something crazy like that is too much of a risk for me. I'd rather take the safer option of a low life of balance transfer card!

But hey what do I know? I'm nearly £30k in debt! ;):p :rotfl:

cheers mate didnt spot that u had to be a home owner for it do u know if American express are still doing the card for 4.9% for life of the balance??

If you're looking for a new loan, check out Northern Rock - last I heard they were 5.8% and ARE flexible with no additional penalties. Only downside is their bullying tactics when it comes to their Loan Insurance - just stick to your guns and say no and eventually they will give in as long as you sign a disclaimer.

    Keep up the good work.

They are mate. Have a look at it through Quidco coz they are offering £40 for successful applications. I didn't realise until after I'd applied! :rotfl:

It's the British Airways one that is 4.9%! :D
