Kaupthing Edge to ING Transfer trouble

Suppose we shouldn't grumble if one bank rescues the savers of another. However my wife's access to her account was delayed due to the PIN letter scratching off the grey stuff under the tab to reveal no number underneath. Worse our three adult children couldn't access their ex-Kaupthing accounts because the 'helpful' folk at ING had matched them to dormanted accounts that had little or no balance in them and we didn't have any access numbers so had to get reactivated before getting access to the money. Several phone calls later its been sorted but its been a pain.0

Has anyone else had this issue of not being able to read their new ING account PIN after attempting to scratch off the panel in the letter? I've just received a new PIN after being unable to read the first one, so this time was extra careful when scratching off the panel, yet I am still only able to read 3 of the numbers (there are 6 in total) as the whole of the grey area came off, rather than just the upper layer. I am not totally incompetent, and cannot believe that this is me just being overzealous with my coin-scratching. The panel must be defective, surely?
I have come to the conclusion that ING are useless and will be removing my money asap. As soon as I can access it, that is! After the last PIN-scratching-fiasco I called them (I would much rather have emailed, as I'm currently in the USA and who knows how much it costs to call their customer services, but no chance) yet even though I had to answer about a dozen different security questions over the phone, they still wouldn't let me access my money without my PIN. I am really not looking forward to calling them tomorrow to try to get them to give me my money back. Grrrrr. Wish me luck!0 -

CATHERINE 1234-If you read earlier posts in this thread you will find many people had problems back in February with illegible/rubbed off PINs - however when I phoned I was assured that the problem had been solved - appears not from your post!!0
