I'm glad we're in a recession

Its not nice to see all these people fall on bad times but lets face it the good times could not roll on forever. Too many people had become carried away spending on credit like there was no tomorrow. Well tomorrow has come. House prices were insane and still are. All those people buying rubbish they didn't really need and BTL speculators making money from doing sod all... so if this puts a stop to all of that, then a recession has some good things to come out of it.
All booms are followed by busts, a basic law of economics that Gordon Brown is too stupid or arrogant to understand.0 -

Negative equity is self inflicted but I have genuine sympathy for those losing their jobs.
I think that's a bit harsh. I have avoided being in that situation over 23 years of house ownership but only by the grace of god and more by luck than judgement. Hindsight is a wonderful thing and makes many decisions appear incredibly foolish, including buying a house in a boom.0 -

But for God's sake refer to it as a depression whenever you're talking about it. If enough people do this we'll all be calling it that
I guess you are not too personally affected, hopefully your day will come0 -

What you actually claimed was that there were people wanting total economic collapse and when asked to justifty it, you couldn't. (No surprises there).

Not quite the same thing, is it?It is true some on the board want a mad max senario. I don't see how you have not managed to see the posts.--
Every pound less borrowed (to buy a house) is more than two pounds less to repay and more than three pounds less to earn, over the course of a typical mortgage.0 -

Would you enjoy it if that happened to you?
They should up sticks and move to rented. Everything in life is a choice, they took the gamble, it didnt pay off. Most people live beyond their means, why should we help those who cant be bothered to help themselves.0 -

I disagree anyone wanting a recession is actualy rejoycing in the pain of others and are more than likely wanting a NWO outcome.
You know that some posters on here want a mad max situation/ NWO situation but you dont want to admit it. (we have all seen the posts and that is why I find your point yesterday odd)
Again thanks to the OP;)0
