I'm coming down there to give him a slap
if you did pack your bags and go,he'd have to shop and cook himself wouldn't he
my OH used to be awkward to shop and cook for and then last year I had to go into hospital for a couple of weeks (unplanned) so he had to fend for himself, now he's much better and comes shopping with me.If he tries to throw one of his wobblers,I tell him if he wants to eat, then he has to pick up what he wants, I don't do mind reading or magic0 -
I fear that may not go down well with a man who tells his dearest to pack her carrier bags and there's the door!0

Chicken stew - if you don't want to use a whole chicken the chicken thighs are good value (I think you use Costco don't you and their packs of thighs are great)
I do a "chuck it all in together" potato bake with onions, veggies (often leftovers or frozen) and whatever meat I have to hand - often cooked pork, chicken or beef or I use cooking bacon. Mushrooms are nice in it if you have them to hand (Costco mushrooms are fab as I'm sure you know). I do this either with stock poured onto the potato and baked or with a cheese sauce poured in. I also do the same with pasta but that's no use to you!Piglet

Cowboy pie?!
Beans in the bottom
layers of corned beef
Mash potato
Grated cheese
Bake in oven until beans bubbling.
Very quick and easy if we have left over mash from sunday dinner,
prob not mega healthy but cheap and cheerful!0 -
Make your mince into meatballs or meatloaf (same recipe) and serve with mash, gravy and veg or mash and beans.
Or make cheat`s chilli - brown/cook your mince, onions then add a tin of tomatoes and a tin of baked beans with just a pinch or two of chilli powder to give it a wee kick and serve with a baked tattie.Fully paid up member of S.A.B.L.E.

Would mash not raise his test too? Do you follow a GL diet?0

Slow roast shoulder of lamb makes a change from mince all the time. And I see no-one's mentioned haggis yet. Are they hard to catch where you are?If I'm over the hill, where was the top?0
