I have Splenda for him, but he says he can't have pudding. I will go back to the diabetic forum and look it up, thanks
I like semolina.....!0 -
I like all milk puddings. For reasons unknown I had a hankering for macaroni pudding the other day. Can you still get sago in the shops? What about tapioca? I've not had either since school lunches well before the Flood0

Me too. I even love the one that's like frogspawn... what one is that ?0

Tapioca Mardatha...haven't seen it for ages in shops, sago either come to think of it...maybe we should just look for it and then shops will stock it again. Milk puddings were always the way to stretch a meagre meal when I was a child...with a couple of eggs beaten in for extra nutrition is hens were laying well.

why no puds because he is diabetic?? the proper diet for diabetics isnt NO sugar; its LOW sugar. low sugar, low salt, low fat and high fibre. in other words the sort of diet that if we all ate it, we would be a lot better for it.
he can have these things, in moderation, and providing the rest of the diet is a healthy one.0 -
He's a ratty virgo drama queen !0

Hi,
Why not make a pudding you can both have, and then he can chose to have it or not??? It's what I do and then I can eat it without feeling bad, knowing my special diet guy can eat it if he wants, or not as he wishes. I rarely eat anything that is not dairy/egg free - it still makes me feel bad even though he's now 17 and has no desire to eat those things!!

I dont want to sidetrack this thread onto diabetic/special diets because I've had such excellent help with the OS cooking.. I think some of the problem is him and some is me (surprise!) He went to bits re the diabetes & can be a bit OTT, and I found it very hard to change, esp since I had just got us sorted on a cheap healthy diet with a lot of pasta. We went from being totally organised to total chaos.
But I need to lose a stone so it wont do me any harm to stop the puds. (sobbing my wee heart out as I type ...)0
