Hi
I purchased 2 DR handcream sets (£8.49) when they were on BOGOF and used the £5 off DR/TD voucher so they cost me £3.49 for 2 and I was really chuffed because I have a young baby and all the hand washing has left them really dry. Anyway, the other night I found the time to 'pamper' my hands but found the smell of the cream awful and it gave me a terrible migraine almost instantly.
I would therefore not be able to use the sets so gave the one I had used to my mum and decided to take the other back to Boots. I told the SA that I couldn't stand the smell and could I return it and she asked me if I wanted to exchange it - to which I replied 'yes'. She told me I could have £8.49 worth of goods no questions asked!
I bought OH £10.00 worth of toiletries and some baby items taking it to just over £15.00 - got £4.00 off toiletries and then £8.49 credit so paid £2.5? and got choccie/skincare voucher back!
I am pleased and it sort of makes up for the fact that I still haven't had a EI or Lynx voucher!
I wouldn't of taken it back had I been able to use it so don't think I have done anything wrong.
Has anyone has the EI voucher recently or do you think they have stopped it? I keep trying the machines but have now given up hope and think that I may just have to wait for the next 'glitch'!

In my local Boots today the lady in front of me was buying some Botanics Body ?? - couldn't see exactly, possibly body scrub
(I was in a hurry and didn't have time to look properly) but it was advertised as £4.99 each and BOGOF. It was a large chunky tub. However when they went through the till they scanned at £6.39 each but the end total was £3.32. The SA was very puzzled and queried it with someone else and she said you can't argue with the till just let them go for £3.22!

I know the Trevor Sorbie offers have been mentioned before but I though I would add my bargain. I thought I would get DP a couple of smellies from Boots for Valentines day as they had the £4 off when you spend £10.
I got DP some TS items and my Mum got my Dad some FCUK stuff which was reduced. We paid for them together to make sure we had spent £10. I also bought some Organix biscuits. It wasn't till the sale had gone through that I realised it only came to £8.43 so I missed out on the chocs/skincare voucher! I was gutted, I have failed!!!! The items I bought were reduced but it didn't say that on the shelf.
The TS Shower gel was only £1 for a full size, 200ml bottle. Now I have looked at them the shower gel which was reduced is very slightly different packaging design to the deoderant. If I had known it was only £1 I would have got more.
We don't have an AC machine in Corby so I didn't get extra points.
I'm don't wear makeup and don't get through loads of toileteries but am saving any bargains for Mother Outlaws Christmas/Birthday/Mother Day and for my sons teachers etc at Christmas. Any other bits will be sent by courier to Group B Strep Support when they have a fundraising event or given to another charity.
I have a son 2.5yr old and a 1yr old so I have spent a fortune in Boots over the past few years. I have no guilt about getting a few freebies from them. I also get all my phone credit from there, as does my DP and my parents since I advised them too.

With regard to the vouchers- Boots send them off to a clearing house and are reimbursed. Many people use them in Tesco off of other things- at least this way you are using them as the manufacturer intended. Presumably they want to build up brand loyalty.
There is an interesting thread here on moneysaving on 'feminine protection' as they call it delicately.0 -
Just wanted to say that although some of the SA's may be less than helpful at times...on the other hand there are also some top SA's out there.
Today I did my first trip into Boots (since TD/DR promo was on) and I bought 2 no.7 suncreams BOGOF also a mediterranean pregnancy body butter (free w/pg voucher) and meditteranean mint body scrub (using a BOGOF voucher for med products). Then I got my No.7 bag (my first ... yipee :j ) and my lindor chocs (way too nice).
Anyhow ... the 2 No7 products went through and the No 7 bag. But those darned meditteranean things wouldn't go through for free. The SA (with a smile on her face th whole time) must have spent 10 minutes with me trying to sort this out (and the shop was heaving). Eventually she 'overrode' a load of stuff and managed to get it all through. Even when my 200 points on no.7 wouldn't go through she overrode that too!
Well I couldn't thank her enough ... except she kept saying she should thank me for my patience.
Thanks to the SA's :A
BTW Tom-Tom Still no avene, soltan gift packs or ei in W'ham (not meant to be me thinks!!)0 -
