Boots Grabbit Bargains Part 7..Read first post for current bargains

hi everyone

Well I've just returned from Boots and thought I would report on the success/failure of the trip.

Sorry if I waffle a bit but I'm excited.

oh well, back to the story. I'm really beginning to worry myself because I parked the car and started walking to Boots. I could actually feel my heart rate going up and my feet were going quicker and quicker. I couldn't wait to get to the AC machine. THIS OBSESSION HAS GOT TO STOP
I got to the AC machine and they all said they were updating so I got even more excited, thinking I was going to get a load of new offers. I waited a couple of minutes then when it finished I put my card in. What a let down. I didn't get anything much at all - just a 150 points off £20 spend, no mens hair vouchers (ok so I don't have a man to buy for, but I still like to know I can get the vouchers if I want them ) The machine gave them to me last week but I didn't even get a No 7 voucher today. Totally useless and literally just a couple of vouchers that I wouldn't use.

I was a bit gutted but my next thought was Avene bags. I found them and there were 4 sitting there. I had 3 skincare vouchers to use and I decided to treat myself to something I couldn't normally afford. So I got 2 of the face spritzers and one of the little Avene bag thingys as I thought that would work in nicely with the 3 Avene freebies I wanted.

I also had to buy a new hot water bottle (off to Scotland next week and I'm going to freeze) and saw our fav shower stuff on BOGOF so I bought a load of that too, plus 2 hair colours on offer.

I trotted off to the till and waited my turn. Got a really nice SA who immediately sympathised with my stinking cold and bad throat so I started chatting and asked her if she could put my skincare vouchers and Avene freebies through separately. I honestly couldn't remember if it would have accepted them all in one transaction. I gave her all my other shopping first as I thought that might sweeten her up a bit and she was lovely.I'd also picked up the wrong L'Oreal stuff so asked her to take it off my bill as I didn't want to pay £5 for it :eek: .
I ended up using only 2 skincare vouchers for 2 Avene luxury items i would never have been able to afford normally and got 3 Avene freebie bags, plus another choc and skincare voucher. SA said to me "you have got some bargains haven't you - well done". It wasn't until after that I realised the extra Avene bag had gone through, even though the SA took the L'Oreal off I reckon it must go through anyway, whatever you buy, but not sure.

I then walked away from the till, looked on the floor and guess what! Someone had dropped or thrown away their choc/skincare voucher so I picked it up. I honestly couldn't stop grinning to myself. I just wish I'd not been on my own as I had no-one to share the moment with.

I then walked over to the Avene section again and the one solitary freebie bag left was looking at me, so I picked it up with another Avene face spritzer, used my choc voucher and paid £1.49 for the 3 items. Different SA this time and she was lovely too - said how nice the face spritzer was etc and didn't seem to mind that I was paying hardly anything for my things.

I came out the shop on a total high. I have 2 sisters and 2 daughters so all the goodies get shared out as appropriate, but none of it would be possible without all you lovely people on here.

P.S. I haven't had a chance to work out exactly how much I paid and how much I got free but I do know I'm mega happy, regardless of amount.

me too! I love hearing about everyone's bargains. I just think it's lovely that people are so friendly and willing to share their finds with others. I'm looking forward to the day when I find a mega blip in the Boots system and I can put it on here

Forgot to say in my post above that in Eastbourne the shelves are full to bursting of EI products, but I had my voucher last week so don't think any more of it will be finding its way into my basket

Was thinking of planning a Trevor Sorbie tour of Bham later, but my cunning plan has been thwarted.

Thankfully only had a tenner on it and have rang Customer Services using my tip from the other day (talk about taking your own advice :rolleyes:) and a new card will be out to me in a couple of weeks.

I think the thread may be cursed - Hold on to your Cards, Tarts! Thankfully, I can report that I'm NOT pregnant too, which seems to be affecting several thread members.

i sympathise! its catching... look out Boots tarts where-ever you are.. if you dont lose your card.. you WILL get pregnant lol ..its the lesser of two evils

sorry, don't know how to copy whats already been written, but I'm responding to modgit's reply earlier up the page about the Merry Hill branch and EI items!

Does anyone know if B'ham has it stocked. Merry Hills closer but I'll go to Brum if there's more chance of getting it there?

G.U.T.T.E.D. went armed with neatly wrote out list of coupons needed, prices and stuff to buy. Got absolutely BOG ALL.No coupons in AC machine apart from competitions,no avene bags no good bargains in sale stuff. Am now depressed which is terrible as it's not like anything bad has happened(well!) but was so looking forward to my shopping trip.Looks like the Lynx/TS honeymoon is over .Roll on the next one.

I tried 2 of my cards in the machine today and everthing seems to have gone and the total spend has now gone up to £20!

Are the spend £10 get a £5 skincare choc/99p voucher offer still on and also is the no 7 offer?

Just got in from boots, got 4 EAU THERMALE AVENE gift bags, first transaction i brought a little gift set in their range with 5 mini items in costing £5.95 so i used a £5 off voucher (the one with the free chocs 1 attached) result..... 95p
so as i had another voucher did the same again at another desk also got 4 bodyform packets taking the vouchers off b4 reaching the till so again .....

Then brought 2 packets of Botanics quick fix cleansing wipes (£2.99) BOGOF and 2 more free bags, would of got more but thats all the bags that were out.
I also did something really naughty but im dashing to work so will tell u later...............

I had the exact same problem. I'm sure the voucher was there yesterday.
