Why is it a risk and why is it too small an area....providing theres a large source of water to use (mmmm....Ballylumford) and distribution facilities (Interconnector)...we could generate and sell to Southern Ireland...and the mainland as well....besides with the Russian grip on gas we're going to end up "over a barrel" sooner or later....or is that to do with the price of oil?:rotfl:I'm now a retired teacher... hooray ...:j
Those who can do, those who can't, come to me for lessons:cool:0 -
Not sure if I should wade into this debate however....
I am a firm beleiver that we need an entirely new stock of politicians in this country who are not made from the "Ulster Says NO" or "Brits Out" mould!
We need new intelligent, passionate, hard working politicians that actually care about Northern Ireland as a country and it's wellbeing, economy and standing in the wider community of UK and Ireland....Afterall if we can produce some of the best 11plus, GCSE and A Level results in the UK, we darn well should be able to produce better politicians!!
A little off the topic of Sammy Wilson, but certainly on topic for "Is NI a Laughing Stock!"

No such thing as global legislation. All international law has to be ratified at domestic level.
Do you think there is an international Police force??
Exactly global legislation is passed down into domestic legislation that all countries must adhere too in meeting their quotas on reducing CO2 levels. But there is global legislation. Countries that fail to meet quotas are fined heavily since they signed up to the Kyoto protocol. this is why you get countries trying to buy so called "clean air" from some developing countries.
With regards to the nuclear situation - I said it was in my opinion too small - in case of a fallout (and yes I know thats scaremongery working on me but its my opinion nonetheless)_ and I am aware that excess can be sold to ROI and rest of UK, doesn't mean I like it.
Not all present science follows it but all present science at the EU environmental stage is working towards this proof. I apologise and should not have said all present science, apologies. In the end maybe the Gaia theory will turn out to be "the" theory in the end and we'll all go !!!!!!!
Torby, while the ad was concerned about saving energy it was also concerned with saving money, which as you say in these times could be good.
I think this is more about sammy wilson in general and not one ad.MFW 148 - Mortgage £121,000 1Jan11 / Mortgage £120,300 28Jan11 / £119,808 24Feb11 / £119,400 22 April11 / £119,089 29 May11 / £118,500 October110 -

Very very true but really can't see it happening in this generation as the very polititions are constantly Scaremongering that if you don't vote for us the "Other Side" will gain power.... take the DUP v TUV power struggle in Armagh/Down..
I don't think that there are many of the politicians we have here who are actually qualified to do what they are doing on ALL SIDES!!
The sooner the Religion is taken out of Politics the better is what it all boils down to in N.Ireland.0 -

Absolutely - mind you I've always thought that someone who wants to run as a politician should be disqualified from doing so!Norn Iron Club member 273:beer:0

Unlikely as the political parties that count are based on religious lines and those that aren't just don't have the support.
Then it's up to us to start to make the change and for our kids to take up the banner!2024 Challenges- Grocery Budget (January £0/£300)
