Having read the papers and watched the tv and read internet articles(SAMMY WILSON)has made this part of the world a laughing stock.Or should i now say this backwater.

I think he has really made himself look a complete plonker but there is some truth in what he says... Turning of the standby light is not going to save the world... (And I know every little helps but this would be really Very Very Very little).

In fact running these web sites probably use more energy than we'd save turning of the standby lights...

We need bigger sacrifices.... More spending on cleaner, greener & efficient public transport and then more people using it... People are quick to critisise and Demand better public transport but in the same breath won't pay for it!!
More money needs to be spent on environmently friendly power supplies. Wind Turbines, Tidal Power, etc..

Spending public money on Add Campains telling us basically what anybody with any common sense already knows is a complete waste of time, money & energy...

It's not even the energy savimg. It's the business end of green energy.

Obama wants to spend billions on developing these new technologies because he can see a market for it.

The renowned climate scientist Prof Sammy does not.
Whos advising him? Knowing the way Stormont works, there must be some external consultants been paid millions of pounds to come with this view.

Still doesn't change the fact that we need to be doing morethan turning of the Standby light to save the world. (Which is essentially what he is saying).

I'm Not condoning his decision but we really do need to be looking at the bigger polluters... power stations.. Industry... Cars and other transport..

I think one of Sammys major gripes was that he wasn't consulted about the advert either...........pretty childish to then ban it from UTV when we can watch it on any other channel on Sky anyway lol!!! because essentially thats all he's done, threw his toys out of his pram over not being consulted and as someone pointed out, he was crowing about the Scots doing the same and then they later came out and said that was only because they had their own locally made adverts..............

I mean we all remember Sammy used to like getting close to nature lol!!
