I make this one regularly - you can add allsorts to it and it always turns out well :D.

    Impossible Quiche
    1½ cups grated cheese

    ½ cup SR flour
    1 onion, finely chopped
    1½ cups milk
    4 eggs
    Salt & pepper
Optional extras:- 3 rashers bacon (chopped); mushrooms; spinach; garlic; parsley.

Mix together all the ingredients - but DO NOT BEAT.
Pour into a greased dish (I use my Pyrex casserole)
Bake at Gas 4, 180° C until set and a knife comes out clean - approx 45 mins to 1 hour - depends on depth of dish.

Ages ago there was a thread with a sort of 'magic' cake where all the layers separated during cooking... I think it may have been Australian?

I've just spent bloomin' ages searching for it but can't find it and can't even remember what it was called :o.

Does anyone remember it or am I going mad?

I remember a lemon version (sponge cake on top and runny lemony stuff underneath) - anyone remember that one??

And maybe a choccie version too?

OK, I'm going to try the lemony one tomorrow..... hope it's really gooey as I'll need something to cheer me up after my first day back at work (post holiday blues and all that!).

Still don't understand the 'science' that makes these cakes different from ordinary cake though.
