I was just looking for Asda deals, and i found this :o

The bad grammer is making me think........ my local Asda hasn't had the magazines in since it got re-built right next door to the old one. I'm wondering if there is a lack of magazines, thats why someone with such bad grammer has won the comp, maybe not many people entered it?

:rotfl: Is your post ''tongue in cheek''?

If it was serious then an old saying springs to mind; people in glass houses shouldn't throw stones. ;)

......Then they published the winning recipe.... IMPOSSIBLE PIE:eek:

She won £250 of Asda vouchers!

What's the betting that she never went anywhere, and just copied it from the Old Style recipe index?

    Wish I'd thought of it:rotfl:

Have to admit that I thought exactly the same thing, Hilstep .

Has anybody noticed that there's not been any Asda Magazines for the past couple of months? Was wondering if it had just been in my local store - I do actually enjoy reading them :o.

    .
As Pink says it's been around for years. If you google it you will find loads of versions.

The OS board does not have a monopoly on thrifty recipes.

Who can claim to have come up with a completely original recipe? There are no new recipes everything is a variation on another recipe.
  • I've got an American cookbook and there's a few variations on sweet impossible pie and there's also an all in one impossible quiche with lots of variations on that too.
This book goes back to the 70s so impossible pie is'nt new.

Try ground almonds instead. Or even breadcrumbs.
  • :confused:I am just in the process of making the impossible pie. After seeing recipe in Asda magazine, I thought I would give it a go. I went out yesterday and bought all the ingredients - not cheap really. The recipe was easy to follow. The first problem came when I tried to pour the mixture into the flan dish. There was far too much to fit into the flan dish. I had to put the rest into a smaller flan dish. After the pie had been cooking for only 20 minutes it was looking decidely burnt. It has now been cooking for 30 minutes and is looking very burnt. I have done the knife test and it is nowhere near cooked inside. Has any one else had the same problem? Goodness knows what it will be like at the end of the cooking time. I feel like I have wasted my time and hard earned cash!
