  • steam cleaner - that's the tip of the ice berg - instead of ironing clothes hang them up and steam them (as they do in shops). Cleaning loos - need I say more, tiles, kitchens, sanitising things, toothbrushes, unblocking plug holes, more or less anything. dry steam kills all sorts of bugs. If you go onto shopping channels you can usually see one being demonstrated. It will give you an idea of its range of uses.
Just had a surf. Trouble is if I want to use it for mattress cleaning I need a 'steam and vac' which is more expensive and I am trying to cut back.
My new modem came from my IP provider, plugged in, got online but still can't get onto my OU Lyceum (need it for my Spanish course as most of my tutorials and my exam are online ). I'm stumped now - my BIL will have to come round and try to get the blasted thing up and running - if not, most of the £410 course fee will be a waste and i'll be at a distinct disadvantage - i'm so frustrated, I could cry :confused:

Can't do anything about it now so will crack on:-
Just a thought - could you contact the OU computer helpdesk?

Carlsberggal - I think quite a few of us have unloaded on here rather than at their family. You unload, we support, you feel better. Anyway I genuinely do not remember anything that could have distressed anyone. AND I am really impressed by how much you have done considering you are dealing with pain. (So stop beating yourself up :grouphug:
    )

OK - if I post it I will have to do it.
    Phone cc company
    Phone NORCAP
Phone electrician - need my doorbell sorted

Thanks toots - that was very thought provoking

carlsbergal- don't beat yourself up. i read what you had written and was not offended at all and i have been in a similar situation ((((HUGS))))

well i am having a cba day! i hate the cold and am going mad in the house. it's far too cold to go to the park and dd is driving me mad. ds is such a poor sleeper that i kind of slide through the day and don't really enjoy them. i don't have pnd or anything just not enough sleep. at nearly 4 months i hoped that he would go longer in the night but he's up every 2 hours still! and i'm bf so i can't even palm him off on dh.

i am gonna have a brew and then i will go upstairs and do our room, which to be fair isn't even that bad!
    HHC 2:30-3 ANYONE?

  • Hi everyone
Don't have time to catch up with the whole thread as I'm off to Dublin tomorrow for the weekend (part Valentine's treat part visiting Boyfriend's family), so need to do lots of cleaning today as I've been a very bad flylady this week.

AHHHHHH!!! My boyfriend managed to MELT PLASTIC onto my hob yesterday (I think its ceramic, its big round things) and I can't scrape it off. Any ideas how to get rid?

Spent half of this morning on the phone to the council sorting out my council tax, but at least its done now. Ooh and the flat we're thinking about looking at might be free to have a look at next week :D

    Anyone up for a HHC 14.30 - 15.00?

Will fit in a cup of coffee before then ;)

ETA - just gone to turn the WM on as i made my coffee, and FINALLY figured out how to remove the drawer :) there's a funny blue thing that if i push down, it pops out. Unfortunately i'd put the powder in before I tried this. So will have to sweep it up now. Hmph.

    Afternoon all

I need to rewind and start again. My trip out resulted in failure in just about every shop - by the last shop when they didn't have what I wanted I was not remotely surprised, just one of those days. Then I stopped to see Nan and she was down at physio for an hour - I couldn't wait an hour (especially an NHS hour!) so didn't manage to see her again.

Toots - thanks for the poem thing - it is 14:17 and all is well - I'm going up to pack the toiletries!

No you don't, mine isn't, its very effective it kills all those nasties. A basic model will do, just make sure you have a switch to control the steam, otherwise yu can't keep up with it. Yu will save money anyway as you won't need all those cleaning chemicals and it does soooo many jobs:D
