Thanks toots and huge (((((hugs))))) for pigpen and DS's GF and DS hope you are all OK .................OH is fine will check again in 10................0

Spent half a small fortune on GF's baby.. he has outgrown all his newborn stuff.. in a week!! and she hasn't had any money since before he was born so I indulged in buying sleepsuits, bodysuits and nappies.. Poor lass is fair knackered and no money.. it isn't fair .. and makes me cross!!
Foster carer isn't having any more in after gf as her own daughter has difficulties and isn't allowed to visit unless the cared for children are out!! but they didn't tell her until GF moved in!! How crappy must that be?!
Oh, pigpen - huge hugs all round. Doesn't sound right or fair to me. Is there anything I can do or anything she or Jacob really need?
toochoosey - glad OH seems ok
Why do I feel the need to eat ice cream?
Oh well, who care - I'm going to have some................

AnW'sMum - I understand the pit of the stomach feeling - have been there too many times... I have slight psychic tendancies which I won't go into here but it's very similar to what you're describing. I send lots of positive vibes to you and your family and visualise a shield protecting you all.
Gawd I sound even dafter now!
Oh, and EVERYONE ELSE - I feel I ought to clarify the happy banana thing. It's not because it's an interesting shape (fnah fnah oooh er Matron) it's through experience (and I believe there's medical research on it too).
Back in 1988 my Dad happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time and caught legionnaires disease. It has about a 10 day incubation period. In that 10 days, my Dad went to Nice, France, for a conference. The bacteria hit big time whilst he was out there and he was hospitalised, too ill to be repatriated home. My siblings and I drew up a rota as to who could be, and stay, out there with him and when.
I was second out. My elder bro had got there first but had to go back due to family and work commitments. When I got there to relieve my elder bro, Dad was completely off his rocker. The Legionella bacteria not only cause severe pneumonia type problems but they give off toxins too which affect the brain and cause delirium, paranoia etc.
My Dad was in isolation in a hospital and is refusing to eat because he thinks, in his paranoia and delirium, that the hospital staff are trying to poison him. I ask him what would he like to eat. He says bananas.
Imagine Nice at it's busiest, I think it was Monte Carlo Grand Prix week or something because it was full of the world's glitterati along world class chefs and top class restaurants. I spent three hours traipsing round the town before I found a hand of bananas. And I paid a fortune for them.
I took them back to the hospital and gave them to Dad. He had one that night and one the next morning. When I visited him in the afternoon he was back from the brink and almost sane again. It took him a long time to recover (he had three weeks in hospital in Nice before he was fit enough to be medivaced home, then had another week in hospital in London) from the whole episode but I swear to this day that it was the bananas that set him on the road to recovery.
Boy - where did that come from? Forgive me...I am the leading lady in the movie of my life

toots, thanks, tutorial went ok. Shame I couldn't make this morning as it seemed to have been the most interesting but good meeting tutor, other students, sharing experiences so far and getting tips
pigpen, it's not fair on you either. Has she got little Jacob's birth registered and her CB etc applied for? Have a chat with Welfare Rights and see if they can do some kicking in the right direction. For now I agree with greenbee, it might be worth it, see if any of us can help in any way
vanilla him barking outside is no good either for bubs, is there nowhere he can sleep inside?

boddy the storing sounds a good idea but you need to be careful and rotate well. I have had tins go out of date as I am a big style horder. Also be aware that they have said food prices might drop when the recession hits further.
Pollybear pleased you kept those expensive curtains after all!
Mudbath good luck with the caravan, don't let my bad luck put you off but do get someone to check it for damp etc
nicki hope the neighbour thing is more settled tonight, there was police at the flat behind my house today and they were round at about 4am asked DP if he seen anyone about so don't know what's been going on.
Valentines day, well DP said he's got me a card and left it in his taxi, don't think I believe him.....he offered me some money if I wanted to get my own flowers.....not the romantic type but he does tell me he loves me every day. He's working tonight of course and away at 5 or something in the morning to go to Manchester so will be sleeping on the sofa lol.
I'm actually quite suprised who did that meal offer with M&S....thought you were all too OS for that :rotfl:Hope all those who did something special had a lovely evening.
Anyway speaking of DPs I need to sort mines stuff out for tomorrow, so he doesn't wake us all up rattling around....One day I might be more organised...........
