Seems like many of us have been less than angelic on the food front so i don't mind admitting i had a bit of a day yesterday myself and think i consumed something like 23syns (mostly cheese and wine syns but had a couple of maltesers too so was all good!).

My usual syn intake is fairly low cause i enjoy big portions of the free food so i'm slightly concerned my weight loss (assuming there's a loss) will be smaller this week but am trying not too worry - i'll be good today and tomorrow before my weigh in!

Actually, thinking about it, i counted four ryvitas as my B healthy choices, so if i swap all the extra cheese i had for those i may well be within the daily syn allowence of 15 or so.

Will stop babbling and start eating my banannas. Good luck with everything this week guys.

Good luck for tonight flis, and hope you feel better soon cotsvale.

I have been up since 4am today (had to take brothers girlfriend to airport), so came into office early. Was stupid and didn't sort any food for today. Soooo hungry when i got here. Have been to Tesco's and got 'healthy eating' egg & cress sarnie for breakfast. Does anyone know how many Syns this is?
Worried i chose the wrong thing.......

Lydia, your sarnie is 12.5 syns! You'll be ok just don't have any more today or just have half your normal amount tomorrow.

Cots, hope you feel better soon, look on the bright sied you might've lost 1/2 stone by the time you feel well again!

    Jeni, enjoy your bananas!
    I haven't got one!

According to the slimming world website:

Tesco Sandwich, Egg Mayonnaise & Cress, Healthy Living 162g pack
Original 12½ Syns Green 12½ Syns

I think you can count the bread as a healthy extra if it was wholemeal though and deduct 6 syns.

    Get better soon cotsvale

Are you talking about lunches at home or packed lunches?

When you say cutting down carbs, do you mean less bread, or no potatoes, rice or pasta as well.

A very low carb lunch could include meats (chicken drumsticks, cold cuts, sausages with a 95% or higher meat content), nuts and cheese.

If you are eating rice and pasta, make up a dish the night before. You can throw all sorts of stuff in it, veg etc.

    Those are good ideas thanx

    Its lunch at home.

I dont want to cut carbs out altogether, but with amount of them i eat i can drastically cut down, not going to have potatoes, not as much bread, but i really love rice and pasta (unsure if there is a low carb option) so maybe ill just have these once/twice a week and like you say throw some veg or whatever in. (instead of packet pasta n sauce :o )

Well done flis. When do you start?

I am not expecting to hear about my job until next week. It is a smallish firm, and the interviews are taking place one at a time, when they have a free moment. When I got the call last Wednesday inviting me to interview, I was offered 2.30 Thursday, or 3.30 Monday. They said they have a couple more interviews this week. I am trying not to get my hopes up, as I get so depressed when nothing comes of it. I even applied for a job working evenings on the checkout at Tesco, but they didn't even want to interview me, just sent me a thanks, but no thanks letter.

It is a bit complicated, but finances are really tight at the moment - including the fact that we had an overpayment of Tax Credit, so they took it all back out of this financial year, so no Tax credits for the past two weeks, or for the next two, then it goes up to £60 a week. I bought a countdown today at SW (12 weeks for 10) and I felt really guilty spending that amount of money on me, but I know that if I quit, then my weight would go right back on (I have lost 2 st 8.5lb). I stayed the same this week at weigh in, roll on the sunshine, I am fed up of being cold.
