Well Done to Keren and LilacLillie! Thats a great start for both of you - you are off the starting block! Don't be disappointed Keren, 2lb a week is the recommended loss - you've more chance of it staying off - and considering you had a big blow out I think you have done really well!
LilacLille - I admire you for being able to do it on your own - I'm not that disciplined (sp)
Chris and Sue - good luck for tomorrow's weigh in!
Cotsvale - thats a great loss of inches - I think once you can feel it in your clothes you know you are doing something right and it spurs you on! I wear the same pair of trousers each week to class - they are almost falling down now and I can actually take them on/off without undoing the button :rotfl: Maybe its time for a new pair of weigh in trousers :rotfl:
I'm due to get weighed tonight - I have been good all week but feel v bloated today - i think its that time of the month! Oh well, might go and do that measuring thing! I'll be annoyed if I do put on this week - I have been good but yday ate a piece of the kids chocolate. DH caught me in the act and gave that disapproving "if you are on a diet surely you shouldn't be eating that" look. He is normally v supportive and encouraging but if I do put weight on because of time of month I know he will turn round and say it was the chocolate! If he does, I might just deck him one and blame it on my hormones!! :rotfl:0 -
Hormones -How we love em!! I hope that you really enjoyed the chocolate and anyway it was less for the kids so that must be good for them.
Ps How do you put those little emoticons on here.0 -

Hi All
Weighed in today and for the first time I've lost 2lb!! I've been following WW for 2 months and only been losing 1lb or less per week. Followed advice on here to make sure I use up all my daily points and its made a difference!
I hope this has now given my metabolism a bit of a kickstart. I only wanted to lose 1lb per week but I was really disappointed when some weeks I didn't even lose that.
8 weeks - 6lbs - 7.5 inches lost0 -
Hi folks
I am trying to pluck up courage to go to my first slimming World class tomorrow night. I have nobody to go with me and don't know anybody who has been.
Can somebody tell me what to expect, how long it takes and what it costs?
I have put on a lot of weight in the last two years through stopping smoking and being on hrt for a while. Just cannot shift it, no matter how I try so thought maybe a class would help. I just don't know what to expect, as probably everybody will know each other or will be with friends.
:undecided0 -
i was like you when i first started ww luckily my friend wanted to go as well but after a few weeks she dropped out so i go on my own now
It doesnt bother me now because they are all a friendly bunch and its in a big hall and i pay my money then get weighed i dont usually stay because im always in a hurry to get back to do some bits before picking the kids up
But if your feeling a bit nervous why dont you go a little bit earlier so you can get the weigh in over and done with before others arrive
when i first went on my own thats what i did and it wasnt half as bad as i thought it would be
The way i see it now is they are all there for the same thing whether they have only 1 stone or a few to lose
after a few weeks you will be chatting with the others so dont worry
good luck:D0 -
Cheers loopylass, I will take your advice and go as early as possible. The one I was planning to go to is held in a room in a local pub, but if I still don't feel comfortable with that I think there are others held in church or community halls that may suit better. I will check the website again.0

There is a sign outside my class saying "There are no strangers here, only friends you haven't met"
My class is great, but there was one time I couldn't make it, so I went to another class (same consultant) and I didn't feel comfortable there. So even if you don't feel happy at the class in the pub, you are right, you can just change to one that feels right. It is hard to make that first walk into the class, but it is the consultant's job to make you feel welcome.
Good luck.Quidco cashback paid out so far £745.89 :j0
