oh and friend of dorothy, yes it will freeze for about a month, i cut it into portions and freeze that way, well wrapped in cling film. and will keep in fridge for 2-3 days. for those who asked corned beef is now syns on slimming world, i loved the corned beef quiche when it was free but now i think corned beef is 3 and a half syns per 100g on the red plan. hth.£2 saver club 30th sept 198 £2 coins = £396(£350 banked)0

HI
I have a Paul Mckenna weight loss cd and it's brill, no effort involved at all except listening to it in bed at night!0 -
Phew! I went to post in 'lose wieght 4' and it said it was closed  glad to see you're all still here
Well I was a bit naughty this week and weighed myself this morning instead of tomorrow. Lost 1lb so very pleased (I sneaked two pecan danish pastries on Monday:eek:
I'm now really worried that the scales will say different tomorrow so I'm not going to weigh myself again until next Friday I think - cowards way I know but I'll be really upset if I weighed tomorrow and found I hadn't lost anything.
The acid test will be tonight - I have a nurse appointment and she'll want to weigh me. So then I'll go straight home and see if my scales are accurate!
Good luck everybody :TNew year, no debt! Debt free date - 02/01/07 :j :j :j0 -

Has anyone got views on weightwatchers as there isn't a slimming world near me? I haven't much to lose----perhaps a stone---but I have back trouble and shouldn't carry any excess weight, so I've decided to join a class.
Thanks.

Thanks cheeky
Betty: I'm following Weight Watchers No Count plan. I am being cheeky as I've never been to a meeting - I just borrowed some books from a colleague
This plan suits me and hubby very well. We don't have to weigh or count anything so we don't feel we're on diets. If we're hungry we can eat, so we're never starving. And we can easily polish off a bottle or two of wine at the weekend and still lose weight.
It's just a basic healthy eating plan. Eat 3 meals a day, stop when you're full. Snack on fruit/veg throughout the day and give yourself a weekly allowance for treats. (We only have wine at the weekend which is below our allowance, so we don't have to worry about counting this - we never go over)
There are other rules which I won't go into unless you want me too as it can sound complicated (such as no processed foods etc). But I've followed the 'counting points' system as well as this plan, and I find this by far the easiest to follow. It just comes automatically to us as a way of life rather than becoming obessed by calories/points/fat.
My friend found it impossible to follow - she felt there were too many foods that count as 'treats', which she wanted to eat freely.
If you want more info, just let me know.

SW suits me better than WW as I'm vegetarian and the green days are perfect for me. There's no weighing involved and dead easy to follow. I think SW is cheaper than WW too.
I'm like you, Betty, have a back problem, therefore excess weight is no good for me either.
Good luck whatever you decideI haven't got one!0
