Theoretically you can hold 3 Reward accounts. However, that's not automatic. Some people have been permitted 3, whilst others have been less fortunate and only permitted 2. If Halifax are in doubt about it, you get something like "to be advised", and they'll let you know in a few days whether or not the application's been permitted.

I could only manage to open two Halifax and one BoS account, but that is still £15 each month for sitting in front of a screen for 2 minutes clicking a mouse and virtually transfering £1000 between them in seconds.

It's actually rather a good hourly rate of pay if you worked it out. Shame there isn't a way to do a 40 hour week like this. :)

Usually shows on the 2nd of the month,(though statement shows 1st), if the 1st is a "bank working day", i.e if the 1st is a Saturday, it won't show in your acc until the 4th although the statement will show the 1st.

It's so straightforward my parents (& brother) all of whom have opened accounts following me (& advice here) can't believe it!

I have a High Interest Current Account, and 3 reward accounts. For the best interest rate on the HICA you need to keep the balance below £2500. So the day befor payday, or on payday depending on the balance, I log in at lunchtime, & move £1k from HICA to reward#1, then the same to reward#2 (from reward#1), then from reward#2 to reward#3. The following day all my dd's & regular savers go out & it is transferred back to the HICA, thus keeping me below the £2500 for preferential interest rate!

My dad initially went into a branch & was told he couldn't have one, as it had to be funded externally. I advised this was tosh, & showed him & mum how to apply online. Mum strangely got one even though her income is only £250p/m - just means making 4 transfers in a 5 min period & you're there!:D

As the interest rate on the inappropriately named HICA is now only 1% its not really worth keeping it topped up to near the £2,500 limit unlike the days when it paid 5% or 6%.

    Hi,
I have 2 Halifax and 2 BOS reward account that I have been paying the £1000 in per month and have received my £5 for the past 3 months now.
I opened a 3rd account for both Halifax and BOS last week, and paid in my £100 to activate both accounts, but when I checked them today, 2 of my accounts now say 'NOT AVAILABLE'.
Does anyone know what this means? I'm hoping they are not going to be closed down, especially as one of them still has some of my money in it!!!!!

What a week I've had. The Halifax have CLOSED all my accounts with them and the BOS. Not just the Reward accounts, but the current account I have for my everyday banking...... The whole lot closed, leaving me with no current account at all. Fortunately, I was able to open a new current account with another bank, but that does not solve the problem of having to move all my dds and regular credits into my account. What a joke...
When I questioned their actions, apparently I wasn't using the accounts 'in the spirit of things'..... TBH, I'm glad to be rid of the Halifax.
