I'm also an existing HBOS customer, and have a HICA, and three RAs, but the BoS site refused to open any more RAs, with letters informing me that I 'didn't meet the criteria' for the new accounts????
As stated, the HBOS log-in details are common to both sites.

I've got three Halifax RAs and a BoS one but didn't get the bonus for the BoS one last month...

Is there a way of maintaining a zero balance on the current account as it wont let me do a transfer that lets the balance goes below £1?
I dont have an overdraft on any of these accounts. Would that make a difference as well?0 -

You should be able to get down to £0.01 by making an internal transfer out.0 -
Ah, you are right. Its only moving the money between accounts internally that has the £1 floor on it.
Transfers to external accounts do not have this for whatever reason.0 -
No, internal transfers can take an account balance down to one penny, just not to zero.
They can on my accounts, anyway.0 -
Ah, ok. I didnt try an amount lower than £1. When I move the money over to the next account I will take it down to a penny.0

The limit is on Reward current accounts only. You can have any number of other accounts. Only my middle application was referred. Try and explain that.
Can't explain it - but I opened three accounts in my name and tried to open three in my partner's name - but his third account was refused (was waiting for a decision for a couple of days but now says application denied). I wondered if it was because he already has a HICA - and I also wondered if it was worth trying to open a third account again, either now or once the refused account no longer displays on the list of accounts. Any thoughts?0 -

I did mine spaced out over a number of weeks gradually.
I was already an existing Halifax customer, having availed myself of the £100 for switching to the HICA a couple of years back and was registered for online banking with them. This account has pretty much been dormant though.
Ditto
The main reason I think I managed to open all 6 was that I found my Halifax log in details worked on the BoS website and therefore, I proceeded on the basis that I was an existing BoS customer too!
Just by stating that I was an existing customer, I found that their systems automatically recognized me.
HTH
I did mine through the internet banking site too on the BOS site and found the same as you. However the account was opened but when I checked it a few days later, it was still there but said 'account closed'!0 -
I already had 3x Halifax reward ones and thought I might as well try my luck with BoS so opened 3 with them yesterday.
They new BoS accounts have appeared on the online banking with a status of 'application decision' but if I click on this I get the message:Thank you for your recent application for a Bank of Scotland Bank Account. Please return to the Bank of Scotland website for your decision. Alternatively, call our Helpline on 08457 21 31 41.0
