If I've got reward accounts with halifax and bank of scotland can I check them all under halifax internet banking site or will I need to sign up to bank of scotland site aswell?

Just log in to your Halifax online banking. The BOS account should show with the Halifax one/s.
  • This is really annoying me now. It's been over a week and still only one of my three accounts has been opened probably. If they are only going to let me have one can they at least let me know and close the others!

Having changed my HICA to the Reward account on the 9th February, I then opened 2 more accounts online as per this post on the 9th & 10th March, both opened OK and funded as per the link above.
Today I received 2 separate envelopes for the 2 new accounts welcoming me to my "new Bank Account" and asking for a cheque for at least £100. so they can issue the "card, PIN and cheque book (if applicable)."

Now I have read on here, somewhere, about funding with £100. is this just for the cheque book etc? Am I OK as I already had an account and just added 2 more, so don't need to send a cheque,( I assume this is for the ID sequence, but I am already ID'd!), and will I get the £5. reward next month if I don't send a cheque?

I vaguely remember reading on this thread that you have to keep £100 in the account for about a week for it to trigger the card and PIN. I'm not absolutely sure about that though. I didn't send the requested cheques, I simply transferred the £100 from an existing HICA and I received the £5's for each of the accounts opened.

So as I transferred £1000. into each account,( as detailed re my link in post #616), do you think that my £5.'s will be safe, or should I put £100. into each for a week?

I don't require the cheque book, card or PIN.

It doesn't have to be a cheque that's sent in. All that is required is £100, which will activate the account, allowing the card, PIN, and cheque book (if requested) to be sent out.

The £100 can be paid in however you like.

It only has to stay in overnight, not "about a week", as one of the posters above said.

Point is, my 2 extra accounts are open and working!

The only transactions done on the accs are, from original account, £1010 into 2nd acc, £1005 from 2nd to 3rd account, then £1000 from 3rd acc back to original account, then £1000 out to external source, all on same day about 2 hours apart, leaving £5. in each acc as a safeguard.

So am I sorted, or do I need to deposit this mysterious £100. (and leave overnight), as I have already moved in and out £1000.

The £100 can be paid in however you like.:jWhether from another HBOS account, by standing order, faster payment, BACS credit.
However cash and cheque deposits do not count towards the Reward payment, so be aware of this!;)

As a Halifax staff member, I'm confirming this is all correct and hunky-dorey!! A minimum deposit of £100 must remain in the account for at least 24 hours, then the card, PIN and cheque book will be automatically dispactched.
As for the account itself, I personally believe it's a pretty good product, so long as you're not an overdraft user, as the overdraft fees could quickly dwarf the £5 monthly payment.
Also in regards to funding arrangements, it doesn't matter where the £1000 monthly credit comes from, as long as the total deposit amount at the end of the month is £1000 or more, then the Reward Payment will be credited automatically.
Apologies if any of this has already been posted, but I wanted to clarify it for anyone still unsure.
