Halifax reward account online now, and the old accounts....

Can I just confirm, please? On opening 3 Reward Accounts in February, just to make sure I got my £5, I transferred in £1,000 from outside source and left in overnight, before transferring back into external account. From reading a few posters comments, it looks like I can transfer £1,000 from my HICA, into Reward 1, then straight into Reward 2, and then straight into Reward 3, and finally back into HICA, without leaving it in the Reward Accounts overnight?

Thanks rb10. I assumed from reading your original post that you were referring to one Reward Account. Just wanted to make sure it's definitely ok to treansfer from one Reward Account to another.

No, although I didn't actually say it in that post, I did it for two Reward accounts, funding each from the other.

From my experience this month, what you are proposing to do should work fine. It seems that any credit to the account counts, regardless of where it comes from, and the money doesn't have to stay in there for any length of time, just hit the account.

Worked for me - £500 from hica to reward #1 and back - repeated.

Opened reward #2 and transferred £500 from hica to reward #2 --> reward #1 --> reward #2 --> hica. Nothing stayed in the reward accounts longer than it took to refresh the screen.

Got my tenner with everyone else

I opened a reward current account today, but when it appeared on the online banking it was listed as just a current account.

I guess they don't stop you opening accounts but now only let you have one REWARD account. Is this right?

It usually changes name to Reward the next day.

I've recently opened 3 reward accounts with Halifax, yesterday i applied to open BOS reward account and had the application decision appear below the account, checked again this morning and I've been declined.

Could anyone tell me if they are clamping down on how many reward accounts you can have, or have i just been unlucky, would it be wise to try apply again any time soon or should i just be happy with the 3 reward accounts i have?

I changed Halifax joint HI current account to Reward (wish I had read this site first) then opened 2xHalifax Reward and 1xBoS for myself. Second BoS declined

OH opened 2xHalifax Reward, and has just been declined for 1xBoS. Think they may well have sussed what everyone is doing ;-)

I will leave it a few months and reapply .... assuming the account is still around by then
