Generally we cant copy posts from other sites happy pig, some sites come down very hard on this and will ban people for doing so, so hence people can win off a comp not posted on mse and be unable to share it xxx

agree it doesn't take a mo just to press the thanks button to thank op's for taking the time to post comps, sometimes it is hard to find the original op as some of the prizes come from diff comps, so i'd say "thank you to all" who posted this prize to be won,

my pet "not like" on here is the people who continually bump up the posts just to say "the links not working, or, still a problem, still an error etc" when it's all ready been posted that there's a problem, why does it take 3 or 4 more people to keep repeating it

forgot to add, especially the ones who sometimes never press the "thanks" button but then complain they can't enter

Maybe they wait to press thanks when they have entered, if they press thanks before they may think they have entered if they come back to it to try again

Other comping sites? Or general websites? I wasn't aware of that, so thanks for putting me straight. :)

  • Occasionally I'll PM the OP if I really want them to know I won from their post and am worried they may not see my post in IWIWIW, say if it's a biggie or something, or someone I 'know'.

The way I see it, what goes around comes around. Comping Karma and all that...

PS, have clicked all the thanks buttons above but some didn't disappear so I'm not sure if it registered or not

  • Everyone's so right. I thank the OP every time I enter a comp, as well as anyone who has contributed eg an answer etc, to be polite and also so I know which ones I have entered.

On the few occasions I have won, I will, if I cannot find who posted the OP, say "Thanks to whoever originally posted this" or something to that effect. And if then I find out who it was, I thank them properly; eg when I won a Garnier prize, had no idea who it was and then learnt Al Mac posted the comp, I thanked him later.

I am a big believer in comping karma.

1,000 Posts Combo Breaker I've been Money Tipped!
Just a point on the views to thanks ratio issue, if an unregistered person looks at the comp, it's included in the amount of views. As they are unregistered they can't thank the post.

One problem that really irritates me is when a poster needs help with the answers to a comp & a load of people thank the comp without sharing the answer. Are they so selfish to think that if they don't share the answer they have a better chance of winning:confused:

Also I have a request from now on I want people to write in their title if I'm eligible to enter the comp. As I'm from Ireland I can't enter a lot of the comps because they are only open to Uk residents. It takes me ages to check out if I'm eligible or not. It would be even better if the op would enter the comps for me, save me loads of time!

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:The last paragraph is all a joke btw before I get eaten alive :D

    Thanks to all the posters:)

I press the thanks button whenever I have read a post whether or not I enter and I don't always read the whole post to know that they need help with the answer (say if I've decided from the title that I won't want to enter) so I guess there may be other people that do that too. Doesn't mean I'm being selfish by pressing the thanks button though :o
