I certainly see your point Numpty about needing to know the money at the interview and how it matters so much when one is doing unskilled/semi-skilled work. Many of those jobs dont pay enough to even consider - so one DOES have to be very sure what the salary is. I dont think its at all unreasonable to expect to know the salary at the interview - but I'm guessing its politic to wait until the end of the interview and whether you feel the "vibes" are that you've got the job and then ask.
I've always ensured I knew at the time what they were offering personally and, at one point, was very glad I'd got things sorted out very clearly at the interview - as, if I hadnt, I would have ended up earning noticeably less than I did!
I suppose - at worst - there would be no risk of finding you've taken on a job on too low a salary - as they would have to tell you the salary in the job offer letter (even if they didnt at interview). If you then saw that salary was too low then you phone them to "clarify" that that is "accurate" and if they persist with that low figure - then you mysteriously lose that letter and "forget" you ever applied for that job (ie it doesnt go on the file of job applications you are keeping for the DWP to prove that you are trying).0 -

Try not to use the words "overcome problems" .....but say instead you;ve "learnt how to adapt and improve in response to challenges youve faced"
.....and don;t forget to "ask" for the job at the end when they ask if you;ve any more questions...
Will ring you tonight Hun

If you wear overalls and walk in with a mop and bucket in your hand then they will think that you are there to change the loo rolls. If you walk in pushing a tea trolley then you're there to make the tea. If you go in wearing some smart clothes, they will think that you are there for a job:j
