The training courses the jobcentre will offer you are things like "reading, riting and rithmatic" as well as confidence-building courses - nothing that is actually usefull if you already have confidence and can read, write and can do sums:rolleyes:

If you are really lucky, they will send you on a 6 week retreat where you can learn pottery and creative writing.
  • Don't hold your breath too much for the courses, I was signing on for almost 6months and got offered one to write a CV, which I duly went on, and when the man looked at my CV, he asked why I was there as he couldn't do a better job :rotfl:Just some box ticking exercise then!

Good luck for the searching hun, have been off line for ages, so thought I best catch up with your thread

Keep your chin up Numpty...I recall signing-on days as being particularly depressing - a day when it gets "shoved in yer face" more than normal that you're unemployed. I just had to remind myself not to take it personally and regard it as being any reflection on me personally that I was in that position.

The one2 weeks ago pigged me off bigtime the snot nose arrogant little !!!!!!,

This week she was very nice and pleasant, and understanding, asked what I'd done to look for a job and honest enough to say there isn't anything around, just to keep looking and hope something comes up:A

and she had a low cut top on so that was a bonus:D

  • I remember signing on day with a particuar loathing too, it was always as though they couldnt give a damn, just grunting at you "sign there"

My OH lost his job a couple of weeks ago, so now its his turn, its his first "humiliation", aka appointment on Tuesday........
