    Hello NM.

Haven't looked on here for awhile.

I am still seeking employment. Have also (after a bit of bullying from SH) signed on and hopefully can back date the claim too.

Going to the JC was something of an experience. Being checked out and whistled out by a fellow job seeker, I was not expecting!!

Guess I need to keep an eye on my bank account to find out when I receive the ££.

The girl who was helping me find a job, soon realised that my CV was pretty good and that I didnt need assistance writing a covering letter. Sweet girl really. I don't envy her job, EVER.

Feeling a bit blue on the job hunt front, no doubt the blue will pass and it will be tinged with a bit of yellow soon. I hope.

    :whistle:bet it made you smile:D

I can understand about the feeling blue on the job hunting front:cool:
It might help f I saw one i could apply for:confused::rolleyes:

hope things pick up for yousoon:j

Just recieved a letter from HB and CTB, I'm entitled to housing and council tax benefits, no shock there
but they have processed my back dated claim and I'm getting that aswell,

If anyone doesn't know, I claimed for these when first signed on, but the forms didn't go through or went on a holiday or something thanks to the Job Centre.

Re-filled the forms in and did a backdated claim, along with a letter from a lovely lady(thank you Wol:kisses3:) and I'm not going to get kicked out:D:beer::D:T:j

Hi numpty really pleased you are not going to need those tents afterall! Well done on getting your claim back dated.... Sorry to hear you haven't seen any jobs to apply for. There are jobs I can apply for but still seems a very long process. The sort of jobs I go for have a minimum of 2 stages sometime 3! I have a final interview next week for a job I applied for early in Feb! I sooooo hope I get it as I am thoroughly bored at home. I am not the housewife type and my house looks more of a tip rather than less now I am not working LOL!

Are you doing any retraining numpty while you wait? It might come in useful?

I think I know what you mean :rotfl:

I thought I saw on a thread that you were interested in becoming a CAB Adviser? Did I imagine it? I can see you doing something like that reading some of what you have written?

Don't sell yourself short! But do have an attitude adjustment if you need one LOL! I read a good book recently SUMO Shut Up Move On - sometimes we have to stop wearing the victim T-shirt and change our circumstances for ourselves..... And no I haven't mastered that one either yet :rotfl:but I think it is the right approach! Good luck - if you want or need any more help from me pm me!

Yeah that is why I never did counselling as a profession I was worried I wouldn't have good enough personal boundaries... Love the "richard heads":rotfl::rotfl:

It is worth exploring possibilities - if you keep doing what you've always done, you will always got what you've always got (or less!) This recession is likely to last for a while so I don't think you can rely on getting the same sort of job as you have had before....

In a long winded way I am saying go for it!

Hi - another book I live is called the Luck Factor (a more boring read tho)! The idea is that if you want to be luckier - you need to change what you do - change the routes you walk or drive - change who you talk to and how you talk to them - do new things. So if you go in a cafe - talk to people - one of them may know someone who has a job for you, same principle when you are out for a walk, on a train or whatever! So talk to them.

Reading "what colour is your parachute" - a job hunting book (which I found mega-boring) it gives advice to have a few different strategies for job hunting - one method isn't enogh, 10 is probably too many but you probably need 3 or 4 different methods to try and get a job. It also recommends targetting smaller companies for jobs - as actually a large percentage of jobs are created by small entrepreneurs!

Good luck! It would be great if you could get something with CCCS or similar
