As I don't own my house I couldn't really offer an opion,
I would recomend phoning your Mortgage company,
maybe better writing to them and explaining to them (a DFW thing again |) its easy to keep a paper trail

Unless it's changed since I was made redundant you can't get paid JSA (including contribution based) until your notice period is over if you have been paid 'in lieu of notice'. You can (or could) go and register with them straight away though. I was able to access a 'group' that helped you with cv's and interview techniques whilst I was still in notice period.
We questioned this at work as there were people who were under this impression having been in that position before, so as you can imagine there were conflicting views? and as I worked in the office we didn't want anyone going away with the wromg advice, so this is why we got the DWP involved and their exact advice to us was "Register AS SOON as you can as this will start the process, and yes it had changed last year they said, I hadn't been in this position before so I couldn't say either way, but as I said earlier, I AM still in my 10 week notice period, was paid 10 weeks lieu of notice plus my 10yrs redundancy and holiday pay and I have now had three payments from JSA since 19th Dec (you can only register from the first day that you are classed as not working, my last day was the 18th Dec) I have two friends from the same office that I worked in and those ladies are the same, have signed on three times and have been paid three times, all still in their notice period.
I'd get down the Job centre and register as soon as.
Forgot to add that I am also contribution based not that this makes any difference.0 -
Thanks for that izzy
I think a trip to the job centre might be the best option

I got made redundant last summer and like you hadnt been there a year, but got 4 weeks PILON, I completed the JSA forms online within 48hours, had my appointment at the job centre a week or so afterwards and was in receipt of Conts based JSA starting from when I had completed the form online, less the 3 waiting days I think it is, and I was still officially in my notice period.
Maybe complete the forms online, and wait for them to call you, I found that quicker and easier, personally
Hope you find something soon0
