I was listening to Fox and they were building it up, so I guessed what was coming and I went to bed and hid under the covers. I am nothing if not brave & practical !

One little point - I did read somewheres that the banks might "call in overdrafts" - so it does make sense if one has one to check when it comes to the end of the "year at a time" agreement banks make in the letter agreeing that one can have an overdraft. I wont check my agreement letter - I'm just going to pay back the little one that managed to appear again:mad: when I get my next bit of salary and will just have to grit my teeth and wait until the money is physically there before spending owt else except the most vital stuff.

I've always taken it for granted that the overdraft agreement will roll on from year to year and it has so far - I guess I'm not going to bargain on that anymore even though I still have that very good credit rating of mine and have always had whatever I want creditwise no problem. Errr....guess I've been a bit spoilt in that respect:cool:

Well......its very tempting to just stay in bed...er...well...even more than usual. Wide, comfortable bed, soft lighting - bring in my stereo and some soothing music - err....just someone give me a nudge at intervals and remind me that I DO actually have to get up to go to w**k when necessary;)

    love

Can I join you please I'm so fed up of this doom and gloom.
  • That would be nice. No distractions from news, mobiles, no need to worry about money, crime etc. Perhaps we should start our own hermit community?
:)Do more of what makes you happy:)
  • I've always been what other people call wacky(I'm told by those that know me it's the old hippy in me,that refuses to go away)I think I'm normal but then who am I to say.I know one thing I'm now at an age,53 when I could'nt care less what people think of me.Life's just too short to worry about things like that.

Well said. (Ditto to the other posters in a similar vein)

Remember it's all mind over matter anyway. Those who matter, don't mind, and those who mind, don't matter!:D
SMILE....they will wonder what you are up to...........;)

I so totally agree. My family(all except my husband),think because I'm a mother and a grandmother I should be sitting knitting in a rocking chair if you get what I mean. They can't see that after spending a total of 36 years of my life rearing first my own children and then a granddaughter I want to me again.I was 16 when we had our first daughter and now that our granddaughter is 17 to be honest I think I am entitled to have a bit of time to do what I want and I like not having to be responsible for other people anymore.Although I do still have to get them out of trouble all the time.
I've always said I'm going to grow old disgracefully and enjoy my new found freedom. To be honest I think they're just terrified I spend what they deem to be their inheritance. That's tough. We earned it so we can spend it.
  • the emf meter came today and I have been pleasantly surprised in most areas of the house but then nothing much is on so it must be measuring background emf.
    Big but

 the two light/clock transformers that are under the bed and that I switched off at the wall 3 nights ago, were switched on for a minute to do the test for emf and they are OFF THE SCALE, in the dangerous red zone. Omg, we have been sleeping over them for 3 years and no wonder that we haven`t been sleeping well and been getting overheated in the early hours

Never again in my life will I have any mains electrical device near the bed, clock, radio, light. I am so mad that we have all been lulled into a sense that everything is safe, when it blatantly is not

The lcd tv was fine and also the radiation from the wireless modem. The dect telephone was taken out yesterday so I can`t measure that. I will measure the washing machine emf when it is on and have tested the microwave, result was in the red zone inches from it but ok at a metre. Don`t let anyone stand in front of it, close to it

The portable induction hob was dangerously off the emf scale close to it above and in front so no more stir frying and I will only be using the pc on it on a timer so I can get well away. Pity help all those who have spent hundreds on new induction hobs. THEY ARE DANGEROUS

I`ll be able to clarify more stuff as and when. Personally I am reassured re the house now and particularly the bedroom as I could see a television mast all lit up in the distance last night. I won`t need to move furniture etc. Phew!!!

summary: switch everything off that you can. Use wind up when possible. Don`t stand near the microwave. Don`t get an induction hob

ps my meter measures emf and radiation
