That must have been Reading - the staff there are dreadful - always try to get to Basingstoke if I can - staff are really helpful.

normally you're right the reading staff are a nightmare, but i never lose to sales people in a argument if i dont get my own way...hehe!.....but you have to be fair......this time it was the crydon store...eventually spoke to the manager and ripped him to shreds as he was misquoting the Sale of Goods Act...id only bought the item 20-30 seconds earlier.....i also report the store to head office...i was nice...but did i get an apology....no...terrible company.

You shouldn't try and exploit the generous offer that ToysRUs are offering to genuine people who complained when the offer was withdrawn while the voucher was still valid

heres a good deal borrowed from another forums!

xbox crystal console with sharks tale, sonic heroes and munchs odyssey (games can be sold for about £50-60 on ebay) for £89.99. this offer was so poular the store withdrew it - think it was a mistake to offer such a good deal!

anyway found out that if you ring up toys r us and ask for this bundle they will let you have it for the price as long as you say you complained to the advertising standards authority. number is ********** ask for ***** ****** in customer service. personally never complained but seems they didnt check or that they have to give the offer to everyone! also you can complain first to be on safe side but i cdnt be bothered!

just worked for me and i have the deal now collected from my local store in manchester -also the store let me choose halo2 instead of munchs odyssee which is out of stock so i am buzzing!

what a bargain!!!

Good deal...esp as you got halo2...i would suggest changing the title though as I doubt you will 50-60 for the xbox games...nearer 30-45 unless you were lucky (average sonic 10-16, sharks tale 15-20, munchs 5-9)

been thinking about it more and its obviously going to work out fine. even once julie realises she has had an awful lot of calls (no need to mention the MSE website folks!) and stops it while she figures out what to do.

well in the meantime asa got lots more complaints from people who are upset and they have to give us all fair and equal treatment so they will insist toys r us sort this out for anyone who complains not just the first lot so you shd all get the letter and offer in the post. so you definitely want to be complaining to the asa to get this offer for sure...

Spot on, the only potential fraud here was attempted by Toys-R-Us, by failing to carry out a promotion that would be deemed legitimate by the Advertising Standards Authority.

The nonsense spouted by some people on this thread seems quite unbeleivable, are the same people going to complain that the owner of the site regularly finds loopholes in companies trading activities to the benefit of us the consumer? No, thought not.

If you dont like bending the rules (but staying within the boundaries of the law) then there's a little X at the top right of your screen you can click, and it will all go away.

thanks for the support guys i was going to delete my posts as people were saying its a fraud etc etc but someone pointed out people might be doing this to put others off to increase the chance for themselves to get one. i dont see the logic in that as im sure asa will sort it out for everyone that seems logical. anyway hope anyone who wants one gets one now and lets keep martins site the best bargains site in the uk! yay!

Why should someone get one if they didn't write to the ASA ?

I have written to them as when i originally wanted this deal the crodon branch refused it instore as they say the offer finished early.

I missed the first part so going to re-read it and hopefully i can get a machine too. thanks again guys

Thanks to the OP for this information, I myself would have no moral issue with following his advice, but then again, I have no morals full stop :-)
I do find it interesting that ToysRUS are bending over backwards to keep the ASA happy....I have no real experience of ASA complaints, but when I recently had problems with ToysRUS regarding a free Barbie doll (for my daughter, not me) that they nationaly advertised, but didnt send me - then claimed it was instore only, I wasnt getting anywhere with my complaints until I told them I was going to make a complaint to the ASA, at which point they immediately sent me the doll.
Anyway, thanks again to SaintHalo for the information, and if any of you want your boxes chipping, get in touch ;-)
