If you want your money back they can do transfers over the phone.

Thanks Steve but, not surprisingly, there is no geographic number for Tesco Finance. Most annoyingly, you can't email them either so I have ended up writing to them today to explain my frustration and concerns.
I can't imagine that they will go bust and so, if we have actually managed to get the 12 months bonus rate, I am keen to leave the money in.
It really does beg the question though, as to the level of ability the people have, who are running this shambles and who are holding my money.0 -

I'm sorry I've been so long in thanking you for pointing out the Tesco geo numbers on saynoto0870. I use the 0870 service very frequently so I'm surprised that I missed these. I now have some encouraging news.
After posting my comments here I wrote a strongly worded letter to Tesco PF complaining about their service and asking for reassurance that they could operate it properly. I received a detailed reply yesterday apologising for the problems, confirming that they had received lots of similar complaints and assuring me that the whole online system is under currently review. Finally, as a gesture of goodwill, they have credited my account with £20 to cover the costs of using their phone system until my card reader becomes available in mid April and the writer of the letter also gave me her direct geo phone number in case of further queries.
I feel a lot happier now, not due to the £20 credit but because they do appear to be listening to their customers and acting on their customer comments. I hope my feelings are justified!

Uh oh, I think Tesco may have opened up a can of worms here, now they'll have everyone on MSE writing in trying to claim 20 quid compensation!0

I just look for the 0800 numbers on their site and phone them, I'm usually put through to the correct department without complaint.0

If you have a Nat West card reader, it's identical and interchangable. My Nationwide card reader did not seem to work for Tescos, but it's worth trying others if you have them.0 -
Why do Tesco not make it clear that you need a card reader to operate the account? I recently had to transfer some money and low and behold was told that I could not because I did not have a card reading which really !!!!ed me off. So I ordered one and two weeks later I am still waiting although the card and pin have now arrived. Anyone know how long the card reader takes to arrive?0

I've been waiting 3 weeks and was told by tesco I should get it around the 20th of this months.
But if you want to make a tranfer phone them - I did, and was shocked at how painless it was.0 -
I have lost the will to live with them...still waiting for my card reader after about 7 weeks or so...I have £10 in there (oh, and 6p interest too), so it's not the biggest mess. And yes, I know you can ring up if you want to transfer money- but tbh isn't that the point of internet banking- that you can do what you want, when you want, without any people gettng involved at all? :mad:
