This is what you have to do,
First go to
http://www.virginmedia.com/myvirginmedia/gofaster/
and register, possibly you will need a new modem, they will send it for you to self-install.
The link will automatically inform you if you require a new modem.
I registered Saturday about 8.00 pm, didn't think to check until just now and found,Move along, nothing to see.0 -
I ditched VM last mohth because of this. i now get upto 8mb adsl for £7.50 and dont have to put up with their appalling customer service.0

I don't want to be messgin with my package either. We currently get a £20 loyalty discount which we wouldn't get back again if we messed about with it.I'm in a similar situation.
This deal, or discount off the full price as they call it, (means they can still up the basic, while maintaining your discount) lasts until November, it's a 6mth contract (now over) with a no strings 6mth extension, so I certainly don't want to rock the boat.
I could do with the 10Mb upgrade, but won't mess with my package in case it messes up the discount.

I'm in same situation, I've got a permanent £20/month loyalty discount (so far over 2 years).
I could do with the 10Mb upgrade, but won't mess with my package in case it messes up the discount.

Before I registered through http://www.virginmedia.com/myvirginmedia/gofaster/ I called VM at 2 different times through the day and each time spoke to the general enquiries staff in this country.
Each time they seemed up to speed on the upgrade, and each time I was assured that the upgrade
1.did not start a new contract,
2.did not affect any deal in any way.
I did casually ask one to confirm when my deal finished, and she was able to give the expected date.
I then took the bull by the horns and registered, so far so good.Move along, nothing to see.0 -
iv been with virgin for ages an i pay £35 a month for phone an bb at 20 meg, rip of i no an i have a £10 discount on that! but.... if you change your package to get the lower price they automatically put you on a new 12 month contract without telling you, i learnt the hard way! iv just come out of my 12 month contract an im moving so finally i can be rid of them!
but if you call an ask they will send you a router if u play ur face thats its descrimination to existing customers0 -
I was on 'Size M' (2 Mb/s), registered via the link given a couple of weeks ago and was told a new modem would be sent. I was a little surprised as I was sure my less than two year old modem would support 10 MB/s. No modem, letter or email has arrived so far so I was waiting patiently for my turn.
I accidentally switched off my modem last night and when I switched it back on found I had been upgraded.0 -
well i have just ran a test to see how fast my modem was and now i am on 10mb.
i was also told i needed to have a new modem and that it would be sent out to me.:j
ps
i was previously on 2mbcredit card bill. £0.00
overdraft £0.00
Help from the state £0.000 -

I upgraded mine online and just got our new bill last week - and our discount hasn't changed - so good new there."One day I realised that when you are lying in your grave, it's no good saying, "I was too shy, too frightened."
Because by then you've blown your chances. That's it."0
