  • I'm sure there's something evil about decaf tea or coffee as it gives me a massive headache straight after drinking it, and I avoid it like the plague! My mum gets them too. We're the only people I know who specifically request 'absoulutely not decaf'.

decaf coffee I'm afraid to say is my geeky speciality. Although name suggests otherwise I come from a science-y type background. Kittikins is right that lots of nasty chemicals are used to decaf coffe and other caffeine drinks.

Decaf anything still actually has caffeine in it only smaller quantities. If you want truly caffeine free then for coffee go for dandelion coffee (Health stores). Warning though only drink this when its hot, its vile lukewarm! I suffered severe caffeine poisoning and had to avoid the stuff (not just coffee but ANYTHING with caffeine in it.....that includes chocolate by the way) and had to radically change my diet.

I thought there was a different way of decaffeinating coffee called swiss water which uses water rather than chemicals and I think that is better for you.

I'm not an expert though so don't quote me!!!!

Well done Fay on getting on so well with your debts :j

Have you sorted out your work colleague to move in yet? Is that a definite or are you still mulling over?
I've got my own flat :j:j

Now I have to pay the bills

And feed my interiors addiction ;)

no worries about the willow, we've been doing more replanning of the back garden you wouldn't recognise it if we do ever achieve it. What photo are we talking about?

I've decided to give up chocolate for lent, i've warned those at work, and it's probably a good thing i've got some days off booked. Think drug addict (very serious one) who goes cold turkey, i don't think it's going to be pretty

I am not sure about the lodger bloke - our b and b chap moves out on the 20th March

So I need some kind of answer from my collegue - he mutters something about when the room will be freee - so am not sure what he wants to do or if he has decided to take it and not tell me

I know its luxurious having a spare room
Cos we have loads of visitors normally and when folk come visit they come for a long weekend or a week or so

BUT its potetentially £300-£325 a month I guess.........and that could pay off another scary loan/cc debt????

    Morning All.

Fay, look at it this way. If you get another lodger great its extra to fling at your debt and if your colleague doesn't move in then look to find another lodger but in the mean time enjoy having the spare room.

    How is everyone today?
CC2 = £8687.86 ([STRIKE]£10000[/STRIKE] )CC1 = £0 ([STRIKE]£9983[/STRIKE] ); Reusing shopping bags savings =£5.80 vs spent £1.05.Wine is like opera. You can enjoy it even if you don't understand it and too much can give you a headache the next day J
  • Hurrah hurrah hurrah for the evil gloominess has passed.

    Update for today

I handed in the botanical survey whot I did and now have a shiney invoice in my hand - yippee:D purchase order will go through later in the week and then give it a month or so (council doh) I will be paid - yippee. As the work was mostly done last August/September feels like getting paid a silly amount of money for a two day write up of a report.

OH reminded me that all my debt (well at least 20k of it  ) is from getting out there back into education and THAT is really scary. Tis whot us single parents woz supposed to do isnt it? Get employable etc -

However as I pointed out the only thing I can really do now (often standing on my head) is to know how to identify all (ok well maybe not all of them - how about most, well probably only some?!??) flowers in the universe. OH reckons that this is pricey knowledge and therefore my knowledge is worthy of hard cash. (HE SAYS NOT ME TBH I THINK ITS JUST COS HE DOESNT UNDERSTAND ME OR WHAT I DO - TEE HEE?!)

I just think I am a chancer - but hey ho - So - If you want to know the difference between buttercups, daisies or nasty nettles stingy or otherwise or a bit of digging done in the garden, it seems I might be your girl. I can even make up a silly name that sounds like its out of Harry Potter rather than being proper latin.

Well sometimes - its hardly saving the planet - but its a bit of a start I suppose. And to be honest not a skill most people need - ho hum! Am happiest out there in the mud anyway.

So another bit of cash for the evil debts.
Thinking of using some of it for debt and some of it for a seriously good lawn mower - which I know is outrageous but we have alot of garden to mow and guess who might have to do it??

DS has suggested he might like to have something he can PIMP - then he can mess about cutting our grass. There are down sides to living here.........

Otherwise nothing else to report today :)

Waving hope you all good - Piq how did meeting go??
