Sophiesmum - decaffinated coffee sounds REALLY bad....I only just read some info about processed foods and thanked my lucky stars I don't like coffee...
"Drinking decaffeinated coffee can cause more harm than good because most “decaf” processes use large quantities of toxic chemicals such as formaldehyde and trichloroethylene. The latter substance is a close relative of the plastic chemical vinyl chloride, which has been linked to certain types of liver cancer. Trichloroethylene is used mainly as a degreasing agent in the metal industry and as a solvent & dry cleaning agent in the clothing industry."
Way to go Fay on the loan
Unix - I don't know, but it may be that Tesco will re-convert your Clubcard deals vouchers back into their tokens if you don't use them?0 -

What do you mean Kittikins, I don't understand?CC2 = £8687.86 ([STRIKE]£10000[/STRIKE] )CC1 = £0 ([STRIKE]£9983[/STRIKE] ); Reusing shopping bags savings =£5.80 vs spent £1.05.Wine is like opera. You can enjoy it even if you don't understand it and too much can give you a headache the next day J0 -
Well, to be honest, I'm not entirely sure I don't know how they do the decaffinating, but they use those gruesome chemicals in the process....and you think that as we all try to eat nice happy eggs and organic veggies etc, it seems a bit counter-intuitive to try and be healthy with decafinated coffee but in actual fact be drinking dodgy chemical sludge instead.
(But, to be fair, I could be talking out of my backside as I'm not remotely science-minded, just read it and thought it sounded scary, lol).0 -
decaf coffee I'm afraid to say is my geeky speciality. Although name suggests otherwise I come from a science-y type background. Kittikins is right that lots of nasty chemicals are used to decaf coffe and other caffeine drinks.
Decaf anything still actually has caffeine in it only smaller quantities. If you want truly caffeine free then for coffee go for dandelion coffee (Health stores). Warning though only drink this when its hot, its vile lukewarm! I suffered severe caffeine poisoning and had to avoid the stuff (not just coffee but ANYTHING with caffeine in it.....that includes chocolate by the way) and had to radically change my diet.CC2 = £8687.86 ([STRIKE]£10000[/STRIKE] )CC1 = £0 ([STRIKE]£9983[/STRIKE] ); Reusing shopping bags savings =£5.80 vs spent £1.05.Wine is like opera. Tesco vouchers usually go for double their face value on E-bay. The winning bidder tells you want deals you want, you order them and send them on once they arrive. Make sure that the deal isn't specific to your name otherwise they can't use them.Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500

many thanks moo2moo, cant believe they go for so much. Where we are there isn't much we could use them for in deals so makes more sense passing them on and getting the cash.CC2 = £8687.86 ([STRIKE]£10000[/STRIKE] )CC1 = £0 ([STRIKE]£9983[/STRIKE] ); Reusing shopping bags savings =£5.80 vs spent £1.05.Wine is like opera.
