Enjoy your walk Fay, sounds divine to get out at lunchtime :) DD and I played on Brighton beach on Sunday afternoon and of course she had an icecream, slurp! :j

Working from home today and dealing with tummy bug, grrr. Oh well, it'll be a NSD as I'm not venturing far from the sofa......and watching loads of carp telly. Should be good for the diet as well, lol!
Eeeek, hope I'll feel well enough to have pancakes tonight

Every time I go into the local Waitrose, the first thing you see is a display of Nutella, flour, pancake mix, frying pans....has made me hungry every time, lol
  • flipcake.gif HAPPY SHROVE TUESDAY EVERYONE!!!!!!!

Hope you feel better after your walk on the beach fay (am very jealous as i only have hills round me)
Know what you mean about cleaning something rather than doing paperwork, when i was at uni i used to clean anything that didnt move rather than do my essays.......................................my mum always knew as her house was spotless!!!!!

Enjoy your bottle (or 2) of wine, even when debt busting we need a treat, it helps us from falling off the wagon completly!!!!

Well done on paying extra to your loan. Hopefully your OH will see better how to budget his money in the future. Mine is getting there slowly but I still get narked at him when he insists on takeaway (and noises up the kids about it) saying he can't be bothered cooking. There's loads in the fridge and freezer etc, so I see takeaways as a waste of money. Ho hum.

Not sure I understand about your wine money? We all need a little treat other wise slaying the debt monster become tedious and boring. So a little treat doesn't do you any harm. If its a fiver you normally spend, I know Tesco's do some lovely red or white for about 2.99, this would save you 2 pounds that can be put towards your debt, this way you still get your little treat. As for other treats, get onto the freebies board and start signing up. I forget half of what I sign up for then get a nice surprise when something comes through the door.

Parcel on its way tomorrow :o

    Hiya
OH is the same about takeaways - when he is here or he lived with us - he use to complain that there were only 'ingredients' in the fridge and NO food.

Ta for parcel - woo hoo

Wine money - well - TBH - I am trying to give it up completely so I started a jar for treats just for me 'not very DFW' but I wanted to be able to give myself a bit of encouragement - living on my own it got easy to get into the habit of opening some wine most nights - as a wind down I guess. I hadn't noticed I was drinking so much on my own until my brother came to stay and he doesnt drink at all - so I have been cutting down dramatically - mostly I use my wine money to buy myself flowers - very sad but very true.....

So when I use to put a fiver in the jar - I could buy things just for me - got a lovely new duck down jacket and my flowery boots - guess the treat thing came from shoving in a bottle of wine as a treat but not spending money on anything else for myself as it wasnt really allowed to treat myself then I thought DOH but I am buying wine - so now I allow myself the money for a treat, or wine, or loan - make sense??

    Probably not!!

Half way through report - woo hoo - I can invoice later if I get my finger out - 5 days contract work. Off to check my latin spelling - ho hum

    Waving to you all xx

Yes makes sense Fay, but seriously sign up for Freebies. There's some good one out there and they make a nice surprise when they come through the door.

The wine/flowers saving thing sounds good to me - I have loads of booze in the house but rarely drink on my own, in fact suppose I only drink to be sociable, so think beautiful flowers are the way to go, they last longer than a glass of vino and give the whole family something lovely :)

DD and I occasionally treat ourselves to flowers, she loves choosing them, makes her feel proud when we sit to dinner and they're on the kitchen table, bless her little curly tops.

Just got a letter from her new school inviting me to new parents' evening in May (she starts in September) and telling me she'll be there until 11:45am for the first term! Gulp, need to start calling childminders and reworking the budget for the gazillionth time!
