i have to say i truely hate my storage heaters, we still end up being cold because we're generally in the house when they've run out of heat. Our living room one was removed last summer as it's barely kicked out heat yet when the winter bill came in it was extortionate. This year we're on our calor gas heater, ok OH is just going to get our 3rd bottle this winter but that only makes £75 in total compared to a winter v summer electricity increase in the region of £200
  • WHilst some folks have efficient ones (EH), like you said I've not heard good things about them.........will google fancy smanchy portable heating things later

LT with calor gas - do you use a dehumidifier? Wondered about calor gas but also was worried about condensation?

Just paid £164 for coal (Insert shreeking face) since dec

Dont know it this would help but when I was living in my old flat I had storage heaters and they were right proper pants. In the mornings the flat was to hot and in the evenings it was freezing!! If I remember right it was Economy 7. The bills were quite low but I had to get additional heaters as when you wanted/needed heat there was none.
Mind it did mean I reduced my tv watching it was so cold I would go to bed really early. Had to make extra trips to the library I was reading so much.:)

good luck with the new house. How can you have a conservatory upstairs????

we do run a dehumidifier in our flat but i've always had to because we have such a problem with damp in general. I have to agree with Peedie though i hate mine, we're also on storage heaters and when i think of my new house which one day we will get on the list there is always central heating. I don't care if it's gas or oil but it must have central heating.

Well i joined the gym yesterday - got 13 mths for the price of 10 and all for free as it's my christmas and birthday pressy from my parents. They also refunded me the swimming sessions i bought which i didn't expect them to do. Did you say that you do a body balance class? is it a blend of yoga/pilates/tai chi? only they do such a thing at the gym and i'm thinking it may look interesting. (well i may as well get my money from the membership)
