My Christmas tree is sitting in the garage - its a piece of ash tree that I cut down about 5 years ago (the tree is now twice as big as it was, gulp) - and its painted gold. It looks like the fairies have come to stay when all the deccies are on........2023: the year I get to buy a car0

Loving hearing about other people's christmas trees! Ours is sitting outside in its pot as we speak - will come onto our balcony in the next few days so it can start to acclimatise to being slightly warmer then bringing it in here won't be so much of a shock! It will come in either this weekend or next depending on what else we have to do. I love getting the tree in and decorated!
Nothing due from Quidco here but I have just requested the grand total of £7.60 owing from TCB!🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

LT - woo hoo
KC love the tree - we will have something similar at OH's as the tree will be in the other house over NY
EH - aww that sounds nice - when I get my own house I want to do something similar
In our house its always a big real tree (on the years kids are home) which then gets chopped up into bits by everyone and used on the firre in the lounge or in the garden if there's snow in the chimenea when we build a snow man
When they aren't home Ifor xmas have a giant redwood in a pot (its the same size as me) and an Aurucera (sp??) which we decorate and put up.

Our (real) Christmas tree will be going up on the 19th - though I may buy it this weekend. Like you Fay I don't bother when the children aren't around, and we have a ceramic one in Africa
Kids Dad has a new young family so the kids are with me more than him (:D)
I'm going to buy daughter-in-law-to-be some pretty wellies and muffler type stuff for Crimbo - so she can be cosy when she goes with DS1 to car-meets0 -
we've just had a call, we're at the top of the allotment list, only a half plot but i think that's more than enough work for us both. I think this officially means i have to find some wellies that fit, even if i have to creatively adjust them to get them to fit right.0

Woo hoo to allotments
we cross posted on the small things thread - I was announcing yoru arrival and there you were!
Hunters wellies fit my monster thighs - I mean calves.....lol
Not cheap but very lovely and flexible for monster calves (mine not yours!!!)
And of course you'll need cosy socksTotal debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.

OH just bought a cooker using my quidco - woo hoo
Lots of parcels arrived today (shoes from Dad for JB) and Nutthead's final bit (jigsaw) came.
And I got a 'how smart is your dog' IQ test (with timer for Peedie) utterly useless I know but we can test his IQ on chrimbo day................he should enjoy that if he's awake enough after his xmas dinner.......:)- I am actually getting excited - (waves to Olive love the sound of the tree) normally I don't do xmas (self preservation I guess when no kids) - but when we do its fun.
Today's epic willow installment is 'site selction for SRC willow'. Soils (yawn) etc
PS we are thinking of having our 'welliefest holiday' (honeymoon proper) over xmas and new year next year (:))Total debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.

You have a giant redwood in a pot? I saw the comment that its *only* as big as you .... but stilll..... jut getting some great images from that phrase2023: the year I get to buy a car0

Ah KC - We (the redwood and I) are not small we are just far away........(Father ted)
Actually - its a baby giant redwood - and I have a white birch - 2 aurucara's - a cork oak, copper beech - conker tree - gingko tree etc various others - no willow so far though - funny that.......................
lol I need a house of my own one day soon - or the trees will get me
(some folks have clothes they wont ever wear - I it would seem have trees that might never get planted......) I lug them from house to house in the manner of the steptoes
Rather insanely having just read that comment - I am thinking about asking for a tree as wedding gifts (if we get a house sorted) to grow a 'best friend forest' in the garden
If I have to grow them as pots for a while so be it!! (I will have my forest) evil laugh.........:)Total debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.
