  • OK so I can safely say we are OK for soap, shampoo, condioner and baby wipes, face wipes and medicine...............infact I could start a chemist :)

Tidied up the drawers in the bathroom and found several big bottles shampoo, conditioner and bath creme stuff - so now just filled up all the smaller shampoo and soap dispensers with stuff - I especially like the Mr T coconut shampoo which is really cheap but great - I put this into the smaller 'posher' Boots bottle for coconut shampoo which is about 4X the price (dont tell them!!)

Also think we have enough stuff for a while yet definetly until after the winter holidays - so that saves on spends!!

Good on you for standing up for yourself with your supervisors. Do what's right for you. Just make sure you're not leaving just cos the struggle with THEM is too hard... As for writing not being up to doctoral level - not sure mine was til about a week before I submitted the damn thing! It's a learning process...

Speaking of which, must go and print my thesis today -viva in less than 2 weeks, aarrrggghhh! And I can't even remember what the damn thing was called! :)

Hi Fay, its amazing what tidying finds, isn't it? I was thinking of doing the Boots £5 voucher thing - buying something, getting a voucher, buying something with the voucher and getting another voucher, etc etc, but discover that I too could actually be stocking a shop - not quite, cos there's just me, but a *lot* of bottles. Hi ho.

Hope you're feeling okay re flu and whatnot.

  • just been out all afternnon looking for seals (not for the freezer but for fun to see the baby ones)

    We found some!!!!!

Cold and damp here - but so lovely to sit on a beach watching 6 baby seals just watching us back thinking who are those strange two legged things and why is that very silly hairy thing with 4 leg with them.

Even had hot chocolate and beans on toast in the local lovely new cafe which sits on the shore :)

The shampoo trick was on the small things thread!

That sounds lovely. I've loved wildlife watching in Scotland..... I remember two seals in a harbour somewhere, watching the fishing boats. And that plane that lands on a beach, flying at a thousand feet over a school of dolphins that were splashing about in water that was completely transparent............ wonderful............

The plane will be the one to Barra I guess, as that lands on the beach - the flight schedules depend on the tide times. :D We've seen some lovely stuff up in the Hebrides - seals can almost be guaranteed in the harbour on Berneray, we've regularly seen Golden Eagles and once otters from the cottage we stay in, and have also seen a Sea (White tailed) Eagle once which we were quite pleased with.

For baby seals - you might like to take a look at some of these pics - taken at Donna Nook in Lincolnshire a few years back. Feel free to have a wander around the albums on there as well - there is all sorts of stuff on there including some Hebrides stuff.

    Debt-free and Proud!
EH - those pics are gorgeous!

We went on a boat trip out from Banff (on the coast north of Aberdeen) a couple of months back for a friend's 30th. Saw loads of wildlife including seals and dolphins, was brilliant!
