Hurray to clever painting - but, you've found a place on the mainland where Mr S doesn't deliver? How weird......... enjoy the trip out anyway, you earned it!

  • Hi there, I found my lovely pair of stripy socks after months of not knowing where they were and thought of this thread. Are they lucky then? Am wearing them today and shall hope for a lovely day.

I've no hope of reading all your diary but what I have read is inspiring. I'll try and keep reading.

Had chilli last night for tea - nom nom nom...

  • Morning HGL - thanks for popping by - I may need to start a part two soon ?

Stripeys are indeed good luck and are always on for added zing and energy throughout the day - I mix mine up when feeling really low.

Currently checking bank - need to sort out receipts for being away, no car made me really think before I bought - IE do I need this when I have to lug it back on the ferry?????

The stripey socks shop is recharged aside tinned goods (see above comment) and bottles of fizzy water/cordial.

    I need to meal plan.

OH has interview for PhD on Tues - in Aberdeen - talking through the logistics of that now - he's also about to be moved about in his dept - so he needs to find out the implications of all of that before his interview.

Back at desk, plants to water and a scary 'timeline' type list to hand in tomorrow for aberdeen supervisor.

Hoping you are all good and spelendid

Kiddies away til next Sun - I leave for Northern Ireland on Monday - deep joy - we had a wonderful walk at the botanics and DD texted me to say she really enjoyed it. DS is in Daddy heaven at the moment so not thinking will hear from him for a bit - will phone later on.

  • pS slow cookers don't do much do they???

I guess that's why they are called slow - not sure I and it will be friends - I don't really do slow.

Will put something in one morning and be amazed when I come home and its cooked therefore will apprecaite it more - I need to think more laterally - watching a slow cooker perform miricales for the first time (yesterday whilst waiting for my tea) isn't really going to be very stimulating entertainment is it?

It's now called Brian - (magicroundabout)

Hope work is proving okay this morning, Fay. Sad about the doggy - its hard to do whats best for them sometimes, isn't it. I miss my cats (old age illnesses took them a while back).

Brian! *brilliant* name for a slow cooker, I wish I'd thought of that!

  • Morning KC - sorry to hear about cats

Doggie no 2 was left with us on the understanding that all the chums of penguin chops would help (guess what no one has - funny that eh?) Shes a border collie and gorgeous but she's really hard work and with me going into a 3 month writing stage - I can't really be out in the field much and she does suffer with not being out.

She will come for weekends and holidays to us in the 6 months inbetween. DS/DD will be sad too but she's going for good next april so maybe this is a good way to make her less about (although we will see her) and then they'll also adjust to her going.

Works going OK - still sorting out spreadsheets prior to time line ergh........waiting for the OK to go ahead..xx
