Morning KC - eeek to Wol being driven into a stream ...have fun on your meet up. x
Morning L - weather is rancid here today - great that you can get off cuts - a manly chainsaw all of my own is on my next shopping list treat - starting to look around for one, I can borrow one for work (and I have all the gear :)) but I don't own one of my own......I'd be better with an electric knife given my short stature but they aren't great for bigger branches - yesterday it was just bow saws and dead limbs from the garden trees but we did do a fair bit - only tackled about 12 trees and have a nice pile of wood to sort out.

Had a cuppa with a lady I sort of know here I even texted and asked to pop in - (not normal behaviour for me but the weather is rubbish and I thought it might be nice to catch up) - 3 kids - lovely lady - but I always come away feeling a bit dismissed somehow

She asks how things are - and to be honest I think she means well so when I talk about things (from a single parent point of view ) she gets a bit flustered and then announced it was time for me to go....lots to do etc.........

Odd - we had a similar life when I was married to my hubby - wierd now when I talk about my new relationship and how hard things are sometimes - she just sort of looks a bit embarrassed and then I feel stupid for making things sound so well um hardly a bed of roses being left as a single parent (sorry I am whining!). I try and stay positive but whollymotherofgod - sometimes I want to scream from the roof tops - no its not ideal but we are going to try to do our best, no one willingly puts themselves in this position.............I dunno why I seem to put my foot in it and embarrass her or me or something - ?

I mentioned perhaps moving when the kids are a bit bigger (she thought I was insane to even think of moving) as being here won't really work - Dad's in France - um someone surely should be in the same country (and drivable....i.e. not on an island?) to the kids when they are at Uni? Or am I really being thick here ?

Money is tight - no brainer ONE parent ONE income - two lovely kids - they won't stop needing a family home which is accessible if they are at Uni??

    LOL
Juggling job/kids etc hard enough whoever you are and however many there are of you doiing it - dunno if anyone ever gets it perfectly right?

Had a walk on a wet soaking beach to sort out head - as you can see its still a bit muddled!

    Sorry brain dump.

  • Dont get yourself into a muddle over this.

My mum was/is a single parent of two lovely (even if i do say so myself) children well we are adults now for 18 years. She had a partner for a while but he was never a parent figure to either me or my brother.

You do your best and make the choices that you believe are best for your kids. Obviously it is hard for you, as i know it was for my mum but everything will work out for the best at some point. Go have a scream into your pillow ;)

    :) to both of you - :)

Instead of stuffing face with chocolate cake - (i dont like cake or chocolate) I have eaten a whole french stick (reduced of course) with butter.

What a bloater eh? What can I say stressy head makes me eat bread.........

Feel much better - L ta for the PM :) will think, research and then get in touch :)

Sorry I shouldn't have sicked up my brain - sometimes maybe I just get jealous when I see someone with the kinda whole family together thing we had. Jealousy isnt a good emotion and being with someone often isnt a bed of roses which I tend to forget its about compromise and I am not good at that - kids are ace (they still have a proper albeit not here dad) - I benefit from being with them on my own - New OH is lovely - so am stopping whining) And when we lived with their dad I didn't work either so we only had one income then so nothings much changed...........just the gender of the current wage earner :)

You see the power of lots of carbohydrates and some lovely virtual hugs - thanks guys!

    Um, lovely imagery?! :p

But I wouldn't worry about it, I think we all have days like that. It is good to have a place like here where you can vent so I'd make sure you keep on venting!!!! I think it is good for all of us.

Sometimes even my good friends make comments about me which sting a bit - even though that isn't their intention. Sometimes you just don't knlow what is going on with other people and so try not to take it too personally.

You just to have faith that you are doing the best you can in the circumstances and you seem to be doing brilliantly.

I wouldn't worry about what you are going to do in a few years when your kids are at uni - well at least don't get stressed about it. Things can really change when you least expect it and who knows what opportunities will come your way when you are Doctor of Flowers:confused::j
I've got my own flat :j:j

Now I have to pay the bills

And feed my interiors addiction ;)
  • Waves to Makeup - thanks dude - dunno why I got in such a tiz - I felt dismissed and I hate that - excuse the imagery!

Dr of Flooooowers you say - I knew I liked you! Hoping life is OK with you - :) - friends do sometimes say things that sting you are right. x Am sure its not intentional.

My prob is I like to worry everything to death :) I know you are right :)

  • *sidles in* errr...hello!

I need to have a mighty good ready back on all my pals threads to see how you are all doing - well by the looks of what I've seen so far mind so well done Fay!

As for your stressy head, never underestimate the amount you have to cope with, and cope with mighty well, might I say?! If you get a bit stressy from time to time, then so be it - just do whatever you need to do to deal with it (and if that's eating a whole french stick, then so be it - there are plenty of worse things you could have done!) and move on. No beating yourself up about it eh?!

Off now to go and have a read - I might even update my own thread in a minute.....if I can find it!
