i have to agree i'd go with the overdraft if you're going to be penalised for paying off Lloyds early. Will have to think of a new name for the OD.
I was so pleased when i cleared mine a couple of months ago, at least i'm not at risk if they decide to pull what i've left there.
we're waiting for a carpenter to give us a ring to come and give us a quote for the doors being replaced, my friend at work's hubby is coming but i've also been given another name so not sure whether to bother getting 2 quotes or just go with friends hubby.
  • Sense in my head would be to get both quotes and let your friends hubby know that's what you are doing - you will probably find you get a quite competitive quote then.

After that if you want to use your friends hubby that way no one feels like they are oblidged but only my honest opinion :)

Nice to use a pals husband - but not if it means its more expensive for you.

Yeah thinking the OD needs tackling - need to think up something silly for him

Many discussions regarding 'wedding' and think we are looking seriously at the next wee while - well I think thats what was agreed - problem with OH and me is hte lack of 'agreement' with most things!!!!!!

LT - location if on the mainland decided as per convo :) BUT interestingly OH has slightly done a U turn on an Orkney wedding - ie now seeing the benefits of a cheap large house and garden for a reception......(mine) so still mulling...........sooth or up north.

    Waves hello

away to the pound land shops :)

    Hi Fay,

Just quick one while bosses are on lunch break.

I would throw everything at the Lloyds OD to minimize the interest, and then it is there to use if other solutions come financially more viable.

think i will call the other carpenter and see what he says.
re location i'm still opting for the one we discussed but i can see the appeal of Orkney, but i still think the other place will be really special.

I can only say me dear we had a cat that was an absolute nightmare and eventually rehomed her, shes more happy, we are more happy and the family who have her now are very happy too.

I'd really thing about rehoming the puppy - can you 'lend her' to a pal or put her in kennels for a week to see how you get on without her or miss her?

That way you might know more how you feel? There is also a pet fostering service or folks who offer this service where I live what about you? Might be worth a look?

Away to sainsbugs to stock up :)

hi angel, i so love to say that you know she has a home with us if she needs one but we'd still have problems with her spending a lot of time on her own. Although i'm sure it wouldn't take much to 'make' me offer to adopt. How is she with cats??

Fay, i'm wondering on whether to change my signature to list the loan i'm currently working on saving up to pay off, maybe that will give me the push i need to keep working on it when i get to the fed up stage, which probably won't be long in all honesty.
  • LT - its certainly helped me when I see it and it hasnt changed at all I do think - OK missis then pay some - its a great motiviation - I find I get a bit depressed (Yeah really!!) when I tot up my total debt - its still well over 20K - but the wee bits like the loan are really keeping me on the straight and narrow

Which reminds me fluffy only has 2 days to go and 10 quid to pay - (I know I can pay it off sooner but I like doign payments a day)......:)

  • I am stuggling between the Evil witches Fennella and Evil Edna and Gargamole or The overdraft that will not be named

Names for the overdraft you understand - :)

Its a thorn in my side so instantly my ex Hub and his missus came to mind, but thats a bit too evil

Although somehow or other an evil witch/wizard theme seems to be setting in...........
